I believe he's going to "die from his wounds." Whether this true or not, the government would benefit from him dying.

As it is right now, there is enough information that conspiracy theorists believe that the government is covering something up. There is also enough information for people to call these theorists 'idiots' and 'nut jobs' and so forth.

The government will be able to push more through to fight against terrorism and to "protect" us. The majority of the citizens will believe this and let it happen. The more control the government is allowed, the more that they can take later on.

This will allow for more surveillance. This means in public, on the internet, on phones, and I wonder how long it will take for this to include your homes.

This will also push on laws of what you can buy, and if you buy certain things you will be flagged and monitored. This will start out with materials that can be used to make bombs. If guns are not outlawed, I'm sure it will be pushed far enough to flag when you buy a gun and ammo. Okay, "outlawed" might have been the wrong word. Restrictions would have been better. Once gun restrictions begin, there may not be an end to it. Guns may not be "outlawed," but this could lead to there being such tight restrictions that it is impossible to buy one.

This is pushing the "What if's" to the extreme, but I do believe that if Dzhokhar Tsarnaev dies it will open the door for some of these things to happen.
