Most likely the one's that are in random spots throughout the country occur when you are on your mobile device. I had the same thing. If you worried just change your password and stop logging into your account on your phone and see if it keeps happening.

i dont use a mobile device. i only reddit from home

and the creepiest part of all: OP's been dead for FORTY YEAAAAARS

dude, you don't even get it. I used to think that like 3 years ago, but OP is actually OP.

Even if you connect on your mobile device on different occasions, your device still connects to the same subnet, giving it a relatively similar ip

How do you check your account activity?

what is it suppose to say anyway?

A list of IPs you logged into your account from. You should pay attention to which IP blocks your ISP uses and what IPs would be your work... if you see a bunch of IPs that look unfamilair, this could mean that your account is logging in from other locations - i.e. that someone may have your account credentials.

Not gonna lie but the day after the bombing I was sifting through some posts here and late that night both on my phone and laptop at home. Then the NEXT day when I wake up for work, I get this email from Google saying there's been suspicious activity on my account and they closed it down awaiting me to reset my password. Kinda eerie if you ask. I thought to myself maybe browsing r/conspiracy instigated this and all sorts of other scenarios. But man, the timing on that was impeccable.

You might also get weird entries if you use VPN without thinking about it from time to time.

look into TOR. it makes you 'anonymous' online. im not sure how it works, i know some websites wont allow access with TOR, i doubt reddit would but i dont know. and im not sure on exactly how well it works but that is the only answer i can give. CISPA worries me as well

are you saying you have comments that have disappeared from my post?

if you downvote this, give me one fucking reason

Va0 im truly sorry there are so many fucking douche canoes on here...

"douche canoes" - love it!

you get used to it,but thank you.

Vote fuzzing.

Because this is REDDDIT

because schizophrenia is contagious!

check your event viewer. check for new user accounts password changes etc..

Is that a helicopter I'm hearing outside?

I have the exact address of someone who accessed my account 2 months ago that lives in the same city as I. So if you read this, I know where you live. I'm looking at your house on Google Street view right now.

I envisioned you making this decree from a throne of coffee beans.

Twist: Your ISP gives out dynamic IPs.

I thought that as well, but my husband's account history only has two different IPs; neither of them match up with this mystery one on mine. I don't reddit out in the wild on mobile (except at my university, which is accounted for), so there's no reason my IP would be at this location.

BASTARD!! IT'S YOU, ISN'T IT?!@#? I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!@#!

lol, of course I'm kidding, but I shouldn't have posted that first comment in the first place. Stupid caffeine makes me post too hastily all of the time.

didn't know google maps supported IP addresses

There are different websites to utilize for looking up IP addresses, and this one happens to use google maps. I took a screenshot of my findings last night, I have no clue which specific one it is.

Do you know how to find the longitude and latitude of an IP?

you don't. IP address mapping is extremely unreliable. punch the same IP address into different websites and you'll get widely varying results. hell, one single website I tried with my own IP address gave me three addresses in two states on opposite coasts, and none of them were remotely accurate.

Mine is pretty consistent personally, which is kind of freaky. But you're right, it's not 100% reliable.
