Movie - Enemy of the state - 1998
36 2013-11-24 by MarinTaranu
I am just watching the movie on TV right now. Is that movie clairvoyant, or what? Talk about : 1) NSA capabilities, mentioning that these were in place "twenty years ago". The movie was released in 1998. 2) Satellite imaging at night? In real time? 3) Why would the movie be picking on the NSA, of all the alphabet soup agencies out there. 4) There is a reference to 9-11, when Gene Hackman looks at the file of the chief on the computer and he is born on, you guessed, 9-11-1940. Exactly like that. Now, what are the chances?

This is a good point. Most Americans simply hadn't noticed it until the recent media stories.

And Sneakers. The first time I ever heard "No Such Agency".

1 in 365.

X 1/365 for The Matrix 9/11 passport X 1/365 for the Big Lebowski 9/11 check

why are you multiplying them together? It's 1/365 for any single movie. For all the ones you mention I could easily reference 355 with an on-screen data that wasn't 9/11.

We are talking about a written date on a document that is clearly presented to the audience in movies that we are theorizing were written when the date of 9/11 was chosen, just a few years prior. So far in this thread-3. If you can provide me with 3 movies where a clearly presented document has a date showing 8-24, or 3-29 in movies made in 1998, 1999, 2000, or 2001, I will edit my comments to say that you are a god. Now that is 2 chances you're being given.

You're making yourself look stupid. There are plenty of movies with onscreen dates. Trouble is, there aren't nutjobs taking screen captures of any of those and posting on the internet, so you'll have to do your own research for those.
Hint: watch any movie.

I think Hollywood has been prepping the population for decades.

We've been told for years that 911 is the number to associate with emergencies.

Other movies reference 9/11.
The Matrix - Neo's passport expires on 9/11/2001.
In the movie 'The Big Lebowsky' the main character supposedly wrote a check that was post dated to 9/11.
Supposedly in occult 911 is the number for the devil, so when you dial 911, you are actually asking the devil for help. From what I understand, in ritualistic sacrifices, you get more power if you tell your victim what you are about to do. Since you don't want to tell him directly, telling his subconscious is a substitute.

I've never heard this one before.

Not sure if it is "devil", "Lucifer" or what. So the exact jest of the reference may be lost in hype of disinformation. In any case, the use of "911" is definitely a ritual used against society in some manner.

Me neither.

Enemy of the State was also directed by Tony Scott. Tony Scott also previously directed Top Gun which was also blatant propaganda.
Tony Scott mysteriously committed suicide in 2012.

I'm surprised these kinds of films get made.

I'd say a maximum of 1 in 365 unless of course there are no other dates mentioned or displayed in the entirety of the remaining film.

Confirmation bias.

I watched the movie Outbreak not too long ago. that's a movie definitely worth watching again. There is a scene in the movie where the president and his cabinet are discussing how they go about fire bombing the town with infection, but they can't find it anywhere in the constitution. And of course, they went ahead with the plan anyway. just another example of the gov trampling all our rights, etc etc.

And the beginning of the movie where the guy on TV says "after buildings start falling down people will beg for survelliance"
Also the director of the movie supposedly killed himself by jumping off the bridge in Long Beach.

butit's nothing like the TV show that aire on March 2001 which exposed a governemtn plot to fly plans into buildingss to keep wars going for profit. The name was called "The Lone Gunman" a reference to the murder of PResident Kennedy by a supposed "Lone gunman"

Yes, they did say that. Amazing.

I think the 9/11 birthdate date. (visible only on the form in freeze frame) for the bad guy's character played by john voight is what really gave me pause.
Somebody in the movie graphics department had to choose that. Graphics don't just make themselves. Its likely someone told him. Usually its the director who sits in a room and makes sure things would have been to his liking and the main bad guys age hence birthday would definitely have been discussed.
Then later the director jumps off a bridge . Pause.

Indeed. And then, as one other redditor pointed out, at the beginning of the movie, there is a scene where the NSA people were gathered in a conference room, and the chief says something to the effect, when buildings will start falling over, people will accept total surveillance readily. Now, what are the chances of all these coincidences appearing in a 1998 movie?
