Totally. I always get negative votes for any comment critical of people in power, and their agenda. There is so much manufacturing of opinions going on here, hope more and more people can see through it.
Military personnel are a protected class in the US. What do I mean by protected class? Try talking negatively about it in public (e.g. Reddit, Facebook, IRL), and see what kinds of replies you get.
This isn't surprising at all. I've been banned from forums before for berating soldiers and calling them psychopaths.

Maybe it's not manipulation, but the ratio of pro-military people is that much higher. I know whenever I criticize the military I mostly receive backlash.

Yes, helpful, insightful comments like these shouldn't be downvoted at all.

Frankly I don't see a single meaningful post among the negative karma ones.

It's been shown that the majority of shills on Reddit are posting from Elgin Airforce Base, so the excessive downvotes make sense

From reading the thread it just looks like the shittiest comments are getting downvoted. I mean really:
That's a pretty pathetic comment. I'd downvote it too.
No offense, but I don't see it. I think you're jumping to conclusions.

Honestly, it looks like reddiquette is being followed pretty well.

At this points it is surprising that reddit user don't realize this site is one of the biggest internet tools for shilling.

I got -100 few weeks back for saying Chris Kyle was a coward.

I can't say he was a coward.
However, evidence is that he was a liar.
