Should I vote or not?
5 2015-11-08 by sufipusher
I've come to the age of voting. But now I'm wondering is it really worth voting or not? Reading up on all the election fraud or machine errors and how votes are rigged. Would i be able to make a change if I didn't vote?

You will make exactly zero change by not voting. That's the point. You are experiencing a form of voter manipulation. Encouraging people not to vote increases the value of the ballot for those who do cast one. A 25% share of the ballot translates to a 50% share when half the population doesn't bother to vote. Every vote not cast is a vote handed to a lobby group. That's why you have a Congress full of people that keep getting re-elected despite an 11% approval rating.

Damn it. Thanks for that, that makes makes a lot of sense.

Yes, you should vote. and it's very important to pay attention to, and vote on local issues and positions. These choices can effect your life a lot more than the nationals.

That makes even more sense. Thanks

yes. Vote. I could spend 3 hours typing why this is important and some douche will spend 20 minutes convincing you to not vote.
Now you have to ask yourself, which of those opinions are genuine, and which are shilled for pay? Who benefits if you do not vote.
Will you be more receptive to a positive message or a negative one?
It is your duty and your right. If you are not part of the solution, you help them hold us all down.
Vote. There should be no excuse ever to not vote.

Thanks man. I was discussing this issue with a few friends. No I do want change.

All the people who voted for Obama wanted change, and boy did they get some...
2 dejenerate 2015-11-08
Yep. But can you imagine how accelerated the change would have been if McCain got in instead? Not an Obama fan, but I shudder to think about how much farther along we'd be in the World War timetable if that compromised warmonger made it in...hurts me to say, too, because I really thought I kind of liked the guy when he was an Independent.

True, it could definitely be worse. It seems Obama rubber stamps whatever his masters put before him though if it means more profits for the M.I.C.

Yes vote!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Vote and vote your conscience. It really matters on a local level and it would matter more on a national level if everyone showed up and voted their conscience vs. "lesser of two evils."
You'll hear a lot of disinfo about not voting and how not voting is the best thing to do - but it's disinfo, don't fall for it. There are a lot of interests that don't want us voting and there are good people who get caught up in the propaganda, too. Read up on who's running and their backgrounds and the full text of any local amendments (not just the summaries when you show up at the polls - those are often really deceiving), it doesn't take very long to do a little legwork, either, thanks to the Internet.

Thanks man. Looks like I fell for that. How do you spot the disinformation being spread?

Kind of difficult in a lot of cases, especially when ideas hit the zeitgeist. But usually, just think about it a little bit to see if it makes sense to you, and then, the most important thing: Figure out who benefits or profits from the belief becoming predominant.

Does your country have a private central bank?
1 sufipusher 2015-11-08
Yes.
1 high-priest-of-slack 2015-11-08
Can you vote for them?
1 sufipusher 2015-11-08
Sorry, you want me to vote for my bank? I dont understand the question.

Voting is like diabetes maintenance. Don't expect miracles if you vote. But if you don't vote, you should expect an emergency.

Yes. Also, stay current on your vaccinations.
These are your primary civic duties, good citizen.

I vote with my wallet.

I'm somewhat lost.

how would anyone know if YOU should vote or not. Furthermore, why are you asking randomly on the internet for this answer?
2 sufipusher 2015-11-08
I thought it would make sense asking this question on the conspiracy sub.

let me tell you why its NOT.it doesn't relate to the argument at all. you are not talking about the discussion, you are trying to attack me instead. its childish.
