Our current situation is very alike what we saw leading up to the first world war. Like you stated, we are currently undergoing a polarization of the globe, countries are taking sides and making allies.

All we need now are for the super-powers to arm up and an incident (I'm thinking a false flag on scale with the 9/11 attacks) to set off the powder keg.

1 year? 2 years? 5-10? Hard to say, but with the current escalations, I wouldn't be too optimistic. Remember, this war will have the combined nuclear arsenals of all major super-powers, so the need to have a standing army with the state-of-the-art-technology is not really a priority this time around. So why don't Russian scientists just come up with an alternative to oil for energy then team up with China to mass produce the items for the Western masses. If there is no dependence on oil then the demand will fall and so the dollar wars happening don't even need to be fought?

I don't think there is any alternative for energy at this point that is as efficient as oil. But I'd like to know if there is one and why it's not being implemented.

There isn't one yet, but I believe advancements in solar energy combined with wireless energy transference could take us closer to a non-combustible energy source.

solar has really been a thorn in the side of TPTB, who needs governments or central authorities when you can provide everything for yourself. i mean with an unlimited source of power like solar why would i need to pay taxes in the first place, centralized utilities are really the core purpose of a government anyway, once we can do that for our selves and be actually self sufficient what would we need to listen to them for?

If one world government had the goal to level currency wars and basically make the playing field equal where countries can once again use their own resources with out getting toppled over for going against what the powers that be have ordained. I would have been like yeah, sure One world government great. Atoms splitting and fusing generates energy, your microwave cooks food by making water molecules rapidly switching poles from pointing up to down this action alone generates enough energy to cook your food really fast so picture how much energy is generated in fast movements or fusions.
