I think I mentioned it here many times, alternative news was about to dominate on Reddit 3 or 4 years ago, and then the Admins put a ban list on major subs and pulled down a bunch of default subs making front page often with alternative news sources. It was targeted campaign to stop alternative media advances. Conde Nast is scared of course.

By having this list of banned domains, they've done a nice job of collecting all the websites that carry stories/information that contradicts the official narrative.

In a backhanded way, they're letting you know who has the good stuff.

The best thing you can do with r/worldnews and r/news is comment like crazy with facts and dispute their lies there. You can't when it's done on the admin level. We need to approve them automatically (which we do). This guy claiming that domains are banned here is just wrong or mistaken, this is one of the few subs where no domain is banned.

Hmm... good point, I'm not sure if it was ever actually officially banned though. I know we talked about it and I personally supported its being banned but I don't remember what the conclusion to that convo was. I also don't know how to program or check the automod so I can't confirm.

I haven't seen any threads from that domain in the spam filter though so that makes me suspect it hasn't been banned yet. Otherwise it would probably be showing in the mod queue. Either that or just no one has posted a link to that site recently.
