There are government agents/employees who scan Reddit to counter negative stories about their countries (self.conspiracy)

There are people working for Russia and Israel who scan Reddit for any negative stories about their country and the use the straw man fallacy https://youtu.be/appAq7fQzSg to change the nature of the topic being discussed. In the case of Russia they move the topic to NATO and in the case of Israel to Palestine. The speed with which this happens seems to rule out just passionate individuals as does the consistency that the straw man fallacy tactic is employed to move the discussion away from the negative comments about their favoured country. There may be people working on behalf of other governments but those working for Israel and Russia seem to be the most prominent on Reddit.

All countries do this.

Just spent 10 minutes in /r/worldnews and you will see how Israel actively manipulates social media. But don't say anything about it or they'll ban you.

See The Astroturfing Information Megathread for factual information on shilling.

It is based in Russia, but operates out of offices around the world including America, so very little tax will be paid in the US.

Sock puppets.
