After speaking to an Elder, I do believe a piece of your soul is taken when a picture is taken. As for the being in the picture, I recognize them from an experience as a kid. This was years later. I don't know if they were protecting or nefarious. I lean towards protecting, but, idk.

Here's the fundamental thing about psychopaths, they are NOT long game players. They are impulse driven and reactive and live only for the predatory rush of the moment. It's akin to running about with horse-blinders on, a particular tunnel-vision that prevents them from seeing the larger picture and reality in general. So what you have is arrogant, elitist, spoiled brats who are used to getting their way or they take the football away and go home; or just flip over the checker table when they lose.

These preening, self-sanctified, soul-vacated, flesh vessels actually fantasise that they can actually kick off a nuclear war. Then be driven to an elite bunker under military protection that they dismiss and lock out of once they arrive. Then try and survive, locked in with top predators looking to exploit, prey and subjugate the weakest amongst the group. Only to attempt to come out years later all smiles and try and lead the survivors for another go round of "Let's fuck over the slaves".

The way it really plays out is as soon as they pop their heads out, they'll be decorated with tens of laser-sight lights of the cops, military and outraged citizens they left to die. Or, any survivors will just simply dump tons of cement over all the air vents and doors of their devil's lair.
