have you watched freedom to faschism? by Arron Rousseau (not sure if thats how his name is spelt)
personally i think paying income tax is wrong. although i am not against all forms of taxation.
corporate tax for instance! (is something that if were taxed properly we wouldn't need to pay income tax!)

Russo. Who's lost every tax case he's ever had. AF2F is just wrong about the law.
1 shit_username_taken 2017-08-17
irwin schif spent a lot of time in prison also with regards to these matters, doesn't necessarily make him wrong or incorrect on the matter.
i have no idea if AF2F is accurate, just as i have no real idea if irwin schif was onto something or not. however i do find it interesting that those interviewed who worked for the IRS couldn't find the law which stated that a person must pay income tax.
at the same time, what little i have read about the history of income tax in britain and america is quite interesting.

That law is 26 USC 1. Schiff and Russo just pretend otherwise. It's why they never won a legal battle.

I am not disagreeing with you, and thanks for pointing out which 'law' it is. i will google it when i have time to do some research.
with regard to OP's question, do you therefore agree with taxation? (the question is a bit open ended, so i will ask specifically if you agree with income tax?)
from my understanding income tax was originally only 1% of a persons wage (and people rioted and protested over paying 1%) and originally went only to service interest payment owed by the government to the bank. slowly over time the amount paid has increased.

I do. I think it's important to keep the distinction between the two questions separate--whether we think taxes are a good idea, and the fact that the law requires them.

The idea of taxes is to collectively fund a government that provides services that society needs
1 Freqwaves 2017-08-17
The reality of it though is to fund war after war.
1 shortmanlongfingers 2017-08-17
there are plenty of countries that tax their citizens and arent fighting wars
1 Freqwaves 2017-08-17
That's very true. And they get stuff back for those taxes, instead of Lockheed Martin getting it.

The actual reality is the electorate is to blame. You and I are to blame. The world we have - is the one our damned selves deserve
Communities have needs and not meeting those needs means no civilization. Maybe you think civilization ain't so good because its the best designed meatgrinder ever fathomed.
Me? Glad im playing vidya games watching my youtube. Glad theres a radio. Im unhappy about the wars. But im especially salty about the electorate.
We deserve every chemical warhead that we're gonna get, this vision needed to be guarded vigilantly....
1 Freqwaves 2017-08-17
Agreed. Ultimately we put up with it so it's our fault.
1 Rockran 2017-08-17
Taxation is necessary, although the amount of funding to various places is something of an issue.
1 ILoveJuices 2017-08-17
Not true.
1 Rockran 2017-08-17
The alternative that pops up in these threads as an opposition to taxation is that things funded by taxation should instead be paid voluntarily.
In the end this always ends up with the very difficult issue of who pays emergency services?
1 ILoveJuices 2017-08-17
The government can pay for things without people needing to pay tax.
1 Rockran 2017-08-17
Where's the government get the money?
1 ILoveJuices 2017-08-17
The government did fine without it until the Federal reserve was formed in 1913.

Flat tax sounded decent to me, we need some major reforms.
1 OrangeCladAssassin 2017-08-17
Flat tax is regressive. Hits those with lower income harder
1 d3rr 2017-08-17
Because they have to spend more of their income to survive? Isn't that a separate issue?
1 OrangeCladAssassin 2017-08-17
You can't really separate those issues when it comes to taxes. A flat tax sounds fair, but it ultimate benefits the wealthier more
1 Red-Vagabond 2017-08-17
It is a joke. Right down your throat. What will you actually do to defend against this? So often I hear people bragging about getting an exemption and paying less.

For a sub about conspiracy, there are a sure a lot of people here who love The GovernmentTM and its Rulers.

Think about life in the terms of a small village
Lets say, 100 folk. Theres 55 guards, 35 farmers, the wealthy 9 and then 1 king.
King says "this winter, we won't have enough food for everybody, we must gather everything and manage rations"
A storehouse is designed, built. How do we determine who gets what from the storehouse(bank)?
1 ILoveJuices 2017-08-17
Tax is theft.
1 adder4all 2017-08-17
agreed
1 crikeywotarippa 2017-08-17
"Taxes are the dues we pay to live in a civilized society. " I read that somewhere once. Doesn't really make the same amount of sense anymore
1 groman32 2017-08-17
Yeah, it's what the government does to protect the rich from inflation.
