“Fact-Checking” - literally means, our congress and political leaders lie all the time, but let’s sweep it under the rug and call it fact checking. How dumb are people? They have writers and personnel that review this shit, meaning they’re blatantly lying to us and they know it!

I can't figure out the point of this post. Is OP surprised by the fact politicians lie, that media and others fact check those lies, or something else? Is OP new to politics or something?

It’s more comical that we can allow our congress and politicians to lie by saying we are “fact checking”, rather than addressing he issue that everything coming out of their mouths is bullshit. Why are we giving them an opportunity to be deceptive?

Because people keep voting for them. The lies work. Every time someone points it out, their supporters simply say the person pointing out the lie is the actual liar until the truth smacks them in the face, then they make more excuses for the lie.

The fact checking is an attempt not to deflect from the problem of lying, but to address it head-on. And what happens? When people don't like what the fact-checker has to say, they call them liars too. And sometimes the fact-checkers lie themselves.

That's the world of politics (and geopolitics by extension). Its a world of tribal loyalties, where decisions are made that impact billions of lives and trillions of dollars. What did you expect?

SOmeone on here a while back suggested reading a book called The Bell Curve. I did and man was it interesting. The long and short of it is that most people are dumb.
