Just a reminder about current events

Every time there is a massive event like what happened today, this place gets bombarded with shit, shills and all kinds of disinformation from both sides. This I just a friendly reminder that theres lots of shit getting thrown around, but also lots of truth flying around too. Check rising, check new, check controversial. Don't believe everything you see, but don't discredit everything either.

Don’t lose your critical thinking ability in the presence of elevated noise.

Yup I think this is a clear message to Trump. Vegas is his city.

...how? He has one hotel there. If anything is "Trump's city" it's NYC

See a claim with nothing behind it. Lol
Thats a red flag to everyone I hope. From there check claim, look for sources for the claim, verify sources.
I've been doing this basically non stop on Facebook with the fuckin flat earthers.
Claim with nothing backing it up is either a flase accusation or a paranoid theory.

Your awesome dude. Fuck disinformation. They are clearly worried and making crazy claims with nothing but a theory and no or shady evidence.
Just stay calm, look for what's missing. And what op said simple checks before coming to conclusions is key
Stay frosty

Extreme comments and ideas from each side is evident. Sort of strange to see it.

Actually you should be trying to discredit everything, that's what critical thinking is.

just pay attention to the shit that happens while being buried by this latest story.

There are currently over 9000 active users here. The common active user base is around 1,500 to 2,000. It usually doubles when news about Trump/Hillary hits the front page to around 4,000 to 5,000. It is highly irregular to see 9,000+ with no front page article.
Just remember that shills are real and that they act on your emotions to distract and detract from any real meaningful discussion.

I don't disagree with any of that but we could always see an uptick in people that come to see other narratives than that on news or other "popular" subreddits.

Now there are reports that alleged shooter killed himself vs early reports police shot him.
