None of what you have stated is new events. Has been happening for years. Terrorist are always planning the next 911. Former Presidents gathering for a benefit for the home state of the Bush family doesn't seem odd to me. Every president is labeled a failure by those who don't support him. Mass shootings happen all the time...hundreds of them in USA a year..we don't hear about them all but if you look up the numbers you will see they happen pretty often. Same dance we have been doing with NK for years. The only odd thing I really see is the recalling of retired pilots.

There is a huge pilot shortage in the U.S. that has been adversely affecting many regional and some larger airlines AND the armed services. New pilot recruiting programs - with major signing bonuses and lucrative incentives - and a push for the FAA to allow accelerated training have been particularly ramped up in the past 8 months or so by all sectors in need.

Regardless of the current situations with NK/Iran etal, it was only a matter of time before a some sort of recall order was placed to fill the positions that have been vacant for some time now, when it became clear that the pool of new recruits was going dry, possibly because those who might have signed on to the armed forces are being given much better options in the commercial sector right now.

Plenty of news articles out there regarding the critical pilot shortage that is crippling regionals and affecting flight schedules. Check out pilot forums as well and the recall will make more sense with less of a conspiracy overtone.

Not saying that the NK/Iran issue isn't a factor, just that there is a coinciding logical reason for the recall.
