/r/NeoLiberal, a subreddit that pushes establishment politics and is just 4% the size of this subreddit, has a daily chat thread that boasts thousands of comments. It's the most obvious gathering of shills outside of /r/redacted.

Redacted is that another name for the r/politics or what? Tried to find it once but couldnt
1 vidarheheh 2017-10-23
I cant find redacted, Why?
1 TrumpThatBitch3058 2017-10-23
R/politics lol
1 Interdisciplinary 2017-10-23
If you're not joking, the site admins stated that you can no longer directly link to /r/Politics if you mean to criticize it or call attention to the fact that it has long since been overtaken by shill accounts. If I remember, they threatened /r/The_Donald over their frequent mention of the subreddit, leading to the slang title /r/redacted.
1 vidarheheh 2017-10-23
I actuallly thought it was politics, but I wasnt sure.
1 mconeone 2017-10-23
It was about two years ago. Now it's an abomination.

Liberals can't run this website, how the he'll do they expect to run the nation?
1 vegaswasreal 2017-10-23
Funnily, a republican controlled government can't get shit done either so maybe we just let everyone be people and start demanding our rights finally.
Do you believe you have free will?
1 Snot_that_simple 2017-10-23
Of course I believe in free will. I've learned much from Sam Harris.
1 vegaswasreal 2017-10-23
I learned the opposite from Kurt Vonnegut.
1 Snot_that_simple 2017-10-23
Harris is of the silly belief that we're victims of cause and effect, which is oviously true to some extent.
If free will doesn't exist in humans, can it exist with any consciousness?
1 ja734 2017-10-23
probably not one that came about from evolution. The will of any consciousness that is the result of evolution will be dominated by evolutionary pressures and cannot be meaningfully called "free".
1 AlloftheEethp 2017-10-23
I think you're misreading Sam Harris.
1 TDMAC14 2017-10-23
What does that actually mean though? "Demanding our rights." What are you going to do?
1 vegaswasreal 2017-10-23
Demand my rights with millions of other people? You want in?
1 TDMAC14 2017-10-23
What, specifically, does that entail?
1 Fluxcapaciti 2017-10-23
I think the most effective strategy would be a tax revolt. It would have a very scary destabilizing effect on establishment types, and would speak to all manner of normal people in the county. Liberal who hates trump and the tax shenanigans him and his ilk get up to- good, stop paying your own taxes then. Mainstream conservative tired off getting bent over every year by uncle same- good stop paying. Leftist who hates the system, constitutionalist who hates IRS- good, both of you stop paying.
After some turbulence- if they call our bluff- we'd have the leverage to demand certain things that have vast majority support. Things like: no more "corporations are people," no more banker bailouts, no more wars of aggression or illegal mass surveillance.
1 slappy_patties 2017-10-23
So.... Telling our employers to not pay taxes? Have fun getting fired. Refusing to pay sales tax? Have not getting your thing.
1 Fluxcapaciti 2017-10-23
That's an obtuse response and you know it. I meant individuals refusing to file federal income tax.
1 UKisSharia 2017-10-23
You're aware that will hurt blacks, latinos and fat, blue haired, unemployable women more than anyone else right? Taxes pay for welfare. You're hurting the very people you rabidly defend every day.
1 Fluxcapaciti 2017-10-23
"Rabidly defend"? Who/what are you talking about?
It would hurt everyone, as corporate welfare keeps many a "respectable" industry afloat as well. Without exercising our leverage though, I believe the populace will continue to get pitted against itself and abused.
1 UKisSharia 2017-10-23
The feckless, useless and lazy :)
1 Fluxcapaciti 2017-10-23
You know noting about me, fuck off
1 UKisSharia 2017-10-23
I didn't.................But I do after that response.
1 AvailableUsername100 2017-10-23
How shocking to discover that you've never had a job and don't know how tax collection works. Who could have possibly predicted this
1 Fluxcapaciti 2017-10-23
Excuse me? Never had a job? How in the fuck are you pretending to know that about me?
You're very, very wrong btw.

How cute. You still think partisanship is a thing. Time to get over your left vs right fight and understand which side you should be on. It's not the left. It's not the right. It's the side of the people.
And BTW this site runs just fine and makes a profit so I'm not sure what you're getting at
1 Snot_that_simple 2017-10-23
You think partisanship is not a thing?? You're definitely an insane liberal, almost as bad as republican.

Look up "The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein. Goes really deep into the history of neoliberal/neoconservative fuckery in the Reagan/Bushes/Clinton administrations.

Naomi Klein cant even get basic facts right. She actually made the argument tianamen squares was anti-liberalization.

Are you under the illusion that there's a difference between the two?
1 feedmesources 2017-10-23
It's not going to help the t_d 2.0 talking point when people use memes straight out of t_d.
1 NotAnotherDownvote 2017-10-23
Both subreddits (t_d and con) have the same anti-establishment agenda so using the same memes is pretty predictable. Both also hate both the GOP and DNC and the elite cabal. The only difference between the two is t_d won't admit Trump is part of that cabal (but that's expected for a fan-boy sub).
1 ForeignAlphabet 2017-10-23
t_d only pretends to hate the GOP to further the narrative that trump is an outsider and that he isn't a real politician. The elections showed pretty clearly that they all just voted GOP right down the whole ballot

"Establishment politics" Why would neoliberal push GOP politics?
1 obsessile 2017-10-23
Because the neolibs and neocons are two sides of the same coin.
1 dancing-turtle 2017-10-23
Neoconservative = establishment foreign policy; neoliberal = establishment economic policy. They fit together bet neatly, and most prominent US politicians are both. Neoliberal doesn't mean "new and liberal" -- it basically refers to the economic views that came to dominate the US political establishment with Ronald Reagan, and the UK's with Margaret Thatcher. Deregulation, austerity, privatization, outsourcing, etc. -- Neoliberalism.
1 Freonbarb 2017-10-23
They're effectively the same thing.
1 SokarRostau 2017-10-23
All Neoconservatives are Neoliberal, not all neoliberals are Neoconservatives.
1 Freonbarb 2017-10-23
They're all Establishment pieces of shit to me.
1 Fluxcapaciti 2017-10-23
Not sure about that- the economic policies of neoliberals are dependent upon the foreign policy of neocons. Think: central banking, globalism, petrodollar hegemony.
1 bartink 2017-10-23
The first two are just mainstream economics, the science where smart people use math to see what works and what doesn't.

There are tonnes of these subs. And the reason is because smaller subs are easier to push to the front page. They need proportionally less votes compared to bigger subs.
1 RobochanAdmin 2017-10-23
Add to that the DNC shills who keep r/all on auto-refresh and upvote anything pro-Hillary, and the fewer votes needed for smaller subs cause them to skyrocket far faster than anything T_D can do (add to that that the admins reset vote counts for anything that goes against the socialist agenda and you can see why this is such a cucked site)

Well I was immediately dogpiled by about 10 users including 2 moderators, and noticed that this was also happening with everyone else making stupid comments too.
That sub is owned by Super PAC there was once an Evidence third posted that most their links on their side bar link to some super pack website. Not to mention all the Epic maymays same Forest it's all hell.

You guys really like talking about penises.
1 AlloftheEethp 2017-10-23
How would that even work?
1 p00bix 2017-10-23
I'm a (((neoliberal))) shill and voted for her, but she would NOT have been a fantastic pres. A decent pres, sure, but strangled by a Republican led house and senate into being unable to pass much of her legislation at all. Maybe her administration would see some better luck with a good result in the midterms, but she'd hardly have been a popular or highly effective president.
That's not even to mention the email controversy--the FBI recommending an investigation wasn't exactly baseless. While it was definitely blown out of proportion by news media (especially relative to equally shady Trump scandals), it wasn't a load of smoke either, and that investigation would have bogged down her presidency the entire way.
Obviously we can't hop over to the timeline where Hillary won AND use a time machine to figure out how her presidency would go, but I don't think she would have been a very popular president, I don't think she would have passed most of her biggest campaign promises, and I don't think she would have won reelection.
1 dcbeast96 2017-10-23
At worst she would have been Obama and at best she would of been one of the GOATs. It was a no-lose situation
1 WAFC 2017-10-23

1 TheTrueMilo 2017-10-23
My extremely technical analysis of a potential HRC presidency is one similar to GHWB - a one term, competent, but uninspiring presidency.
1 p00bix 2017-10-23
Agreed. I think that like GHWB, she'd go down as a mid-tier president. Known to most Americans as the first woman to be president, but not particularly notable, with her defining ideology and achievements being largely forgotten 60 years or so down the road.
1 Rightfull9 2017-10-23
What is her defining ideology?
1 p00bix 2017-10-23
Gender and racial equality, lower cost of education, speech restrictions, improved access to healthcare, preservation of Obama legislation, child slavery, free trade, a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants, and abolition of suffrage.
1 Rightfull9 2017-10-23
Those might be her campaign positions and probably "public" positions at that. But that's not her ideology. What is she passionate about? I have no idea. To me it seems like she is passionate about whatever is politically advantageous at the time.
She is against the type of healthcare that improves access the most, she isn't a champion of free speech, she wanted to bring superpredators to heel, and has attacked the many of the accused sexually harrased female victims of her husband. I don't see her being passionate about any of those things and to be honest I don't understand what makes people passionate supporters of Hillary (if there are any).
A defining ideology should be specific and tangible and obvious.

You clearly do since you've made all of these comments. But it's pointless if you're not going to actually back it up.

I'm here to talk about conspiracies, not educate the youth.

Cool story brah.

Speaking of Crooked Hillary, why doesn't this get more exposure here?
I thought our armed forces would raise hell but it really doesn't seem like they give a shit about equipping the people killing their brothers in arms with American weapons.

Essentially, the executive branch Knew that the hundred billion dollars of weapons they sold to Saudi and Qatar were being used to fund / train / arm ISIS and Al Qaeda. Gabbard was on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Armed Services Committee and Intelligence Committee and former assistant chair of the DNC. She's qualified to make this statement.

Incidently, the banking regulations page on Cornell Law and a number of other Constitution websites are omitting pages describing banking regulations as they pertain to trading with the enemy:

And...?
1 the_strat 2017-10-23
And what? Someone claimed Clinton committed treason, someone then asked for a source, I shared sources supporting misprision of treason. What more do you want?
1 AlloftheEethp 2017-10-23
No, someone claimed she committed treason, and you posted some links and pasted the text to non-official versions of some statutes. Then you shared some information about al Qaeda and ISIS, an HRC speech, and Senate assignments. Finally, you seem to suggest the Cornell Law School Legal Information Institute is removing portions of applicable statutes because reasons.
1 the_strat 2017-10-23
Yes. Those links support the argument. The links to the Constitution do have the official text unless they've been altered. And yes, they have... reasons. They give those reasons. I was just saying "some reason". Funny how you deligitimize Cornell in one sentence then hold them up in another.

Lurkers see it and believe many people think like that, swaying their opinion.

I'm betting very few people have even heard of that subreddit... until the OP came along, that is.
1 Sachyriel 2017-10-23
/r/neoliberal has been on the frontpage a few times, mostly through circlejerk submissions like any other small sub.
https://www.reddit.com/r/neoliberal/top/?sort=top&t=year
Those are the ones that made it to the Frontpage of Reddit, but Reddit is a pretty-hard progressive site, with the support for Sanders. So Neoliberal is a political epithet that isn't welcome around other places. Neolibs are to the progressives, corporatist shills. Which maybe true, but I think they're just Blue Dogs.

1 Zenyx_ 2017-10-23
Kind of off topic but check out /r/veganrecipies and the people who post there. I've seen two different shills/bots who used that sub to get karma to come act real here. Maybe it's a sub similar to neoliberalism?
1 bartink 2017-10-23
How do you know that's why they post there?
1 Zenyx_ 2017-10-23
not all, just certain ones abuse it because it's easy to get karma without any content that you create.
1 bartink 2017-10-23
So you've hypothesized they want karma, which never happens on Reddit! /s
1 Zenyx_ 2017-10-23

We make $16 an hour shilling, can you really blame us?
You can criticize all you want, but you know you're tempted to do it. Gotta make a living.
If you're interested in getting on the payroll, subscribe to /r/neoliberal, then go to the Discussion Thread (the one at the top) and leave a comment asking, "Should Old Ravens Obey Someone?" We'll get in touch with you through PM and walk you through the fairly quick application process.
1 1_point_1_day_ago 2017-10-23
You people act like it's impossible for a handful of people to control hundreds of accounts between them.
Also, you act like people are suggesting shills are random redditors off the street. No, it would be a small group of people controlling a huge number of accounts, just like public SEO firms do.
This moronic lines of reasoning male you look stupid.
1 TechnocratNextDoor 2017-10-23
Have you seen our discussion threads? You don't get that kind of appealing "community" (which draws a lot of people in!) by having one person control 100 accounts. There's too much of a drop in quality.
We have nearly unlimited resources at the top anyway, so quality of contributions is prioritized. It's a new kind of astroturfing, and one I think you'll find is working quite well.
You can have multiple accounts, but max is 5 for exactly that reason.
I would say I've said too much, but there's always plausible deniability. Nobody is going to write a news story off of some random Reddit comment, after all!
1 1_point_1_day_ago 2017-10-23
Whatever it is you do and whatever your methods, it's better than 16 an hour. All my friends who do SEO and brand management make bank.
1 p00bix 2017-10-23
I understand that it's hard to see why so many people would unironically support Neoliberalism, but for me it's hard to see why so many people would unironically support Trump. But /r/neoliberal doesn't need a wide conspiracy of botnets and sockpuppet accounts anymore than /r/The_Donald does to explain its popularity.
1 1_point_1_day_ago 2017-10-23
I didn't say anything about that sub, nor do I care about it.
I'm simply pointing out how all the similar, sarcastic rhetoric that gets thrown around whenever discussion of shills comes up is dumb.
It's spreading ignorance about an entire sector of e-business as though it doesn't exist.

That's, what, 2% of the US population?
1 steazystich 2017-10-23
Can confirm SEO was a huge deal~1" years ago and a lot of people thought it was fucked up. Now it's called astroturfing or fake news depending in your political leanings or some shit.
1 BerningTendies 2017-10-23
What the fuck? SEO is optimizing your sites/blogs/etc in order to get better placement on Google. It's literally in the name "Search Engine Optimization".
1 steazystich 2017-10-23
Yup, but at some point (at a large enough scale) inevitably crosses over from "helping people find your page" to "tricking people into coming to your page" to "stopping customers from finding your competitors page" which is where it gets shady.
And then at some point Google started letting you just pay them directly to improve your page rank (ie: search ads).
This is more at the business level - it'd be surprising if bloggers/random idiots were going that far.
1 1_point_1_day_ago 2017-10-23
I'm talking about online astroturfing specifically.
You seriously think more than 5% of the population could define SEO and tell you about how online marketing companies create fake blogs and fake social media accounts in order to game search engines, control discussions, and negatively influence competition by having fake conversations with themselves?
How many people do you actually think would have that conversation with you?
1 steazystich 2017-10-23
I'm not sure if maybe you replied to the wrong person? Probably I just wasn't clear.
Astro-turfing is an absolutely enormous part of SEO, even if "SEO Companies" would deny it. It has been going on since before the internet.
It goes back at least a decade, because around that time it seemed like half of the people I met were working in SEO in one way or another.
I'm not sure what we're dis-agreeing on here? We're both grabbing statistics out of the air - we're probably both wrong on them.
All I'm pointing out, is that this is not new at all. Many people know about it, but I agree not everyone does and that explains why so many people fall for it.
1 1_point_1_day_ago 2017-10-23
I never said it was new. Just that it was booming and your average person has no idea what it is, and would probably disbelieve you if you told them.
1 steazystich 2017-10-23
Ah agreed.
Honestly it seems like plenty of people who do know about SEO are in denial... "What? No one would fall for that! Astroturfing is obvious, etc."
Hence why we're discussing it here :-)
1 Kelsig 2017-10-23
Right, but presumably you're friends are domestic employees. /r/neoliberal is all outsourced offshore.

1 1_point_1_day_ago 2017-10-23
Again, trying to pretend online PR doesn't exist. That is exactly what using the internet to manage a brand looks like.
You must not have many friends because I know multiple people whos businesses involve orchestrating online conversations as part of marketing campaigns and brand management strategies.
1 Fredfredbug4 2017-10-23
Considering that the discussion thread schisms literally every day I doubt that what you described is happening, unless your idea of "brand management" is diluting that brand as much as possible.

1 gaslightlinux 2017-10-23
That's how they enslave you. They pay the masses a minimum wage of $15, and they pay the shills $16. They fight hard for that extra $1. Divide and conquer is the name of the game.
1 steazystich 2017-10-23
Wait, where are they paying the $15 minimum wage?
1 gaslightlinux 2017-10-23
It's a proposed minimum wage in a number of places, in some places a mandated one that they are creeping to over a period of years. However, a commonly quoted number. The main point was to note the $1 difference, and how little you need to create two separate classes.
1 steazystich 2017-10-23
$1 creating two separate classes - that's a pretty interesting idea. I will keep that in mind. You could be on to something.
I think you need some significant income disparity before that works, though. Could be wrong. Hope I'm not. But this isn't a safe space :-)

It isn't a joke. I do actually get paid to shill online. It goes through several shell companies, but the money does ultimately come from Soros's Open Society Foundations.

1 1_point_1_day_ago 2017-10-23
Real answer: you'd have to have a lot of experience and an established reputation in the SEO/online PR/reputation management industry.
Search for online marketing, PR, and branding on LinkedIn or something similar. You would have to establish yourself for years to become a trusted industry insider, and then get a job with a firm like Cambridge Analytica or Shareblue and work your way in. These are obviously not jobs that would be given to any random redditor off the street.
1 AspiringOligarch 2017-10-23
Just send me a PM, bro. I'll hook you up.
The pay is awesome. $500.00 per qualifying comment, $1,250 per qualifying post.
But mind the fine print, bro: The pay is in Zimbabwe Dollars, measured at the exchange rate with USD as of October, 2008.

1 ForgottenMemes 2017-10-23
Turns out they are National Socialists.
1 drunkai 2017-10-23
Wrong
1 ForgottenMemes 2017-10-23
You might want to read Mein Kampf at the very least before chiming in.
The first paragraph is an excellent summary of Nazi economic theory.
The second mostly works, but the Nazis didn't really see free speech/religion/press as things that needed to be explicitly defended for it's citizens it was more assumed.
Contrary to popular belief there was more freedom of speech in Germany in 1940 than in 2016.
1 drunkai 2017-10-23
Nazism is fundamentally opposed to inclusive institutions
Nazi economic practices (large-scale cooperation between government and corporations) is not "minimal state interference under the check of inclusive institutions to free it from the influence of corporations."
They are fundamentally opposite political philosophies
1 jammerlappen 2017-10-23
True. For example calling for the killing of Jews in 1944 was as legal as actually killing them. Today these free speech haters call that antisemitism.
Also the Nazi book burnings didn't happen.
Rounding up Jews didn't happen.
Rounding up Homosexuals didn't happen.
Rounding up political opponents didn't happen.
The Scholl siblings were actually not killed but hailed as heroes of free speech for providing a different oppinion via flyers.

2.) free travel and immigrants contribute more to local and national economies than they take away from. Especially considering someone has to cut my lawn.
