Ratings dropped on its coverage. What made you think their interest was genuine, and that they weren't just demagoguing for ratings? You reall think the coastal elites who serve as media figures, let alone their corporate overlords, give two shits about the average person?

The sad fact is, the African-American community specifically is seen as a wedge issue to be exploited. Worse, the African-American community has been so abused over the years that they still vote 90%+ for a single party (which also happens to be the party that does the most harm to their community).
