New rule - Is it helping?
13 2017-12-30 by _ReleaseTheSmoke_
Can I just say that the new rule about describing the reason for your submission has really made this sub better. It's only been a few days and the sub looks completely different. Thank you for your work mods, this was a good move.

Haven't really noticed a difference tbh. The rule seems kind of pointless. People are submitting the same shitposts, just now with some submission statements explaining some ridiculous bogus spam article,
Just my 2ยข
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
It's cut down on the spam articles significantly I'm. The sub is a little less politicized which is good.
1 DownWithTopMinds 2017-12-30
Yes. Spam decreased exponentially. Crap is still getting through, but less often
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
It's probably impossible to did the sub of all crap because of the other content. Honestly I feel like you're just lazy of you don't do this anyways.
1 DownWithTopMinds 2017-12-30
Besides, you arent supposed to flush until you've seen all of the shit.
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
I wish I could give you more than one upvote for that lol
1 LetsSmashStacks 2017-12-30
Yeah, more dedicated spammers will still get through but it definitely has helped some.
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
It's our job to see through the BS anyways, the spam just confuses new users of the sub.

Definitely makes a great difference! So many fewer nothing irrelevant posts, it really has worked well!

No.

Yes the low intelligence libtards literally ha e brain meltdowns when they see that have to write a statement. Excellent filter from the r/politics brigade
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
Using low intelligence and libtards in the same sentence doesn't make you look very intelligent either.... If you're still divided by politics you have much learning to do :)
1 Lucy-Sky-Diamondz 2017-12-30
Its a thing, if you havent noticed, and that not noticing that its a thing, doesnt make you look very intelligent either
I'm not, but at the very least, those on the right have been much more willing to explain things for me and when looking objectively, are right about many more things than I first initially realized
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
It's two sides of the same coin. It all depends on who you're talking to. Libtard is an ad homin attack and doesn't lead to productive discussion.
1 Lucy-Sky-Diamondz 2017-12-30
If we are talking about a libtard influx, then yes, it is 100% productive discussion.
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
We're all in this together, no reason to attack anyone. How will calling a lineral leaning person a libtard ever going to change their mind? That's some lower vibrational bullshit. It seems like your goal is to argue though, so have a nice day.
1 Lucy-Sky-Diamondz 2017-12-30
you cant change most of their minds anyway, they are too far gone into illogics and feelings, believe me I have tried both in my family, friends, etc and there is just no logic, manners, or critical thinking in these people. In all actuality, the majority of humans are very low IQ and its quite saddening. My hope is for future genetically engineered super smart humans who will save the day and start to overtake the natural born idiocracy
That's why there's no point in even trying.
Its not. I clearly said the new rule change has stopped the leftist idiots from being here and posting here. Simple, to the point
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
Ok dude, you're clearly going about it the wrong way because I probably agree with you on most political views and I still can't stand the way you're talking.
1 Lucy-Sky-Diamondz 2017-12-30
I cant stand a lot of people and how they talk as well, but what are ya gonna do, such is life
1 nighthawk1961 2017-12-30
No. Those who are assholes will still be assholes. Do gun control laws keep guns out of the hands of criminals? No. This is fucking stupid.
1 epium 2017-12-30
Could it be argued that this rule change was focused on reforming the sub under the guise of alleged "spammers," who spam their days away with spam... while perhaps the emphasis instead towards "cleaning" up the sub should have perhaps been focused on rule10ers?
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
Actually this has been used already on eh conspiracy 2 sub already. I don't like that dub very much, but the submission statement was my favorite part because the posts we're more informative.
1 ClassicFives 2017-12-30
Yes. YouTube links with titles that gave no comments txt used to be so obnoxious.
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
I have stumbled onto a few gems by clicking random YouTube links, but there was way more BS than gems lol.
1 Only2gendersNot2417 2017-12-30
Bullshit. They only allow posts which THEY approve. You get it?
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
They allow any posts with the Submission Statement lol.
1 surd117 2017-12-30
Completely disagree. The SS is a good idea, but not for this sub. IMO, the SS takes away from the idea of this sub, which is to formulate your own understandings by filtering out the bs on our own. The users here already know that the world is filled with bullshit, spam, and lies, which is why this sub even exists in the first place because people need a place to weed out all the garbage and eventually dig down to the truth. The SS adds another layer to be manipulated, in ways like filtering content, or even just upright lying about the content of the post. Mark my words, this rule will only bring more confusion to this sub and, at the very least, gives the mods more control over what is posted, upvoted, and seen. Not that i dont trust the mods, i dont trust anyone, hence my presence here.

Hey, how can just a LITTLE bit of censorship be a problem, right.
First they came for the spammers . . .
Then they came for the bots . . .
Then they came for the shills . . .
Then they came for the . . .
1 _ReleaseTheSmoke_ 2017-12-30
It wasn't censorship on the conspiracy 2 sub so idk what you're going on about
1 VenomRaven 2017-12-30
Absolutely yes. Quality has gone up a lot IMO because people have to actually think about what they are posting and whether its of value. Please keep it. I cant see the harm it causes anyone.
