Men of r/Conspiracy: Consider Having Your Testosterone Levels Checked
144 2018-03-11 by SacredSocrates
Men of r/conspiracy, it is now more important than ever to have your testosterone levels tested, and for good reason.
In a study published in 2007, there was found to be "a “substantial” drop in U.S. men’s testosterone levels since the 1980s, but the reasons for the decline remain unclear. This trend also does not appear to be related to age.
The average levels of the male hormone dropped by 1 percent a year, Dr. Thomas Travison and colleagues from the New England Research Institutes in Watertown, Massachusetts, found. This means that, for example, a 65-year-old man in 2002 would have testosterone levels 15 percent lower than those of a 65-year-old in 1987. This also means that a greater proportion of men in 2002 would have had below-normal testosterone levels than in 1987."
Could the United States Be Deliberately Producing a Mass Population of Docile Men Lacking Leadership Abilities?: "In the latest study, researchers evaluated the hormone levels of male executives in an executive education program at Harvard. They found that managers who had greater leadership responsibility had higher levels of the hormone testosterone, which stimulates the development of male sex organs and has been shown in numerous studies to be associated with leadership qualities like aggressiveness and risk-taking."
Low Testosterone Symptoms
Depression
Fatigue
Brain Fog Irritability
Muscle Weakness
Loss of Muscle
Weight Gain, especially in the stomach region
Reduced Sex Drive
Erectile Dysfunction
Low Semen Volume
Infertility
A WORD OF WARNING
After having your testosterone levels tested, your levels will most likely fall within the range of 280 to 1,100 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). A total testosterone reading of 280 to 1,100 ng/dL is considered to be in the "normal" range. However, many doctors are not specialists on hormones or hormone therapy, which can be problematic for you. While 280-1,1000 ng/dL is considered "normal," when you begin to look at testosterone levels by age range, you may find that you have lower testosterone levels than what would be considered normal for someone your age. Keep this in mind, your doctor may suggest that your testosterone levels are perfectly normal, when this simply isn't the case. If you do get your testosterone levels checked, be sure to go early in the morning upon waking, so that your testosterone levels are at their highest, most accurate numbers. Testosterone decreases throughout the day, so going to get tested at 4pm may result in a false reading.
A Personal Anecdote
I am a 25 year old man with with total testosterone levels of 440 ng/dL. I went to the doctor to be seen for depression, fatigue, brain fog, lack of motivation, etc. The doctor told me that my reading of 440 ng/dL was perfectly okay and that I had nothing to worry about. However, consider the median testosterone levels based on age below.
Average Total Testosterone Available, Based On Age 25-34: 617 ng/dL
35-44: 668 ng/dL
45-54: 606 ng/dL
55-64: 562 ng/dL
65-74: 471 ng/dL
85-100: 376 ng/dL
As you can see, as a 25 year old man, my testosterone levels were comparable to that of a 75 year old man. This can be extremely debilitating for individuals, especially if they suffer from the many undue effects that low testosterone levels can bring. Many attribute the rise in low testosterone levels among men to outside environmental factors, as well as the food we consume daily.

What wouod cause the decrease in testosterone levels? Good post btw.

Soy, beer, and birth control chemicals in the water are huge contributors.

There is a strong link to chemical and man-made scents being able to manipulate hormones.
Deodorant, shampoo, cologne.... things like that.

I wasn't aware of the products you described, I knew about plastics, specifically BPA, time to practice my Google-fu.

BPA
"First synthesized in 1891, bisphenol A came into use as a synthetic estrogen in the 1930s. Later, chemists discovered that, combined with phosgene (used during World War I as a toxic gas) and other compounds, BPA yielded the clear, polycarbonate plastic of shatter-resistant headlights, eyeglass lenses, DVDs and baby bottles."
Sippy Cups, Baby Bottles, Regular plactic cups, plates, cutlery, etc.
At least 2 generations of Western Men were dosed with Synthetic Estrogen.
I don't know how many generations it will take to repair the damage to us and our society.

Obesity and daily alcohol consumption cause more harm than soy which they're likely not eating anyway and imaginary level drops caused by birth control in the water(which also controls you mind!) ;)
But seriously, obesity is one of the biggest factors, i used to be 350lbs and had the T levels of a 50 year old at 25, now I'm 30 and a competing Strongman/Powerlifter at 260lbs with above average levels using no drugs, I will later use them to combat low T as i age and to compete at higher levels, but I do not see the need outweighing the risk yet even with safe use.
Also happy to recommend natural ways to raise your T if anyone wants advice, but dropping body fat and regular exercise including resistance training is the best way.
Low carb diets can lower T too, unless combined with high fats & protein properly.
1 SacredSocrates 2018-03-11
That's awesome! Glad to hear that you were able to make healthy lifestyle changes for a better life! I, however, am not obese, workout three times each week, eat a moderately healthy diet, get ample sleep, yet my T levels are still low. I'm taking ZMA and D-Aspartic Acid as a means to fight my low t, but will be making another trip to the doctor to get my levels retested.
1 TheAstralTerrestrial 2018-03-11
If you can recommend some ways to increase T I’m all ears, pretty certain I’ve had low levels for a while but will get tested for sure.
1 VeganSavage 2018-03-11
Bench, deadlift, squat.
Complex motions promote t.
D-aspartic acid is really the only over the counter chemical that can increase t, despite the thousands of products.

Stretch. Learn how to move your muscles correctly. Then begin lifting and sprinting. You will release some serious T.
1 troublemaker74 2018-03-11
Proper form is key, right from the very beginning. Lifting with bad form will cause injury.
It's a lot better to go slow with proper form than to try to lift heavier with bad form.
1 Weareone2 2018-03-11
You can permanently injure yourself if you don't prepare your muscles to move that way. People don't realize what getting into "shape" really means. I really would like to do a post about it.
I was injured for about a full year, severe lifters headache, but figured out it was simply due to not stretching. Amazing what it can do for your
1 Dank--Ocean 2018-03-11
which stretches are best for hips/lowerback?
1 Weareone2 2018-03-11
Check out Sean Vigue on YouTube. Loads of free content and great stretching/yoga when you're ready. Do not start with yoga. You won't get much out of it. Most athletes don't get much out of it. The body must be relaxed and stretched before you can start moving in true yoga form.
What is the best? Maintaining proper form. Stretching is a martial art. You are working against your own body. You will begin to realize your muscles move a lot differently than your mind thinks. You only move the way you do due to stress and muscular tension. This is relieved by listening to every word the expert says. Feel the breath. Feel the stretch. You're positioning yourself to move freely and effortlessly. That is strength.
Breath is the most important thing, I cannot give you any stretches as I do not know your tensioned parts. But if your hips and power back are tight it's due to tight hamstrings: which means your glutes arent activating, hence the stress and tension in the hip and back. Stretching is the realizing of the problem areas aren't the problem. It's the symptom of the problem. The problem is elsewhere in the body due to tension.

Are you under the impression that it's a good idea to pull a gun while being mugged? I'm pretty sure that's a quick way to go from losing your iPhone to getting shot.
1 Industrialists_Coup 2018-03-11
Okay captain street smarts.
www.bjs.gov/content/guns.cfm
According to this, the vast majority of "muggins" are done without a firearm. Only 12% did.
So, yeah, if you're a puss-cake who can't handle your firearm, then maybe it'll get taken from you and you get shot.
That is, if you suck at defending yourself.
1 Sir_Edmund_Bumblebee 2018-03-11
Ok, got it, you're an internet tough-guy with only a loose handle on reality.
But sure, waving a gun around is the best solution to avoid getting mugged, absolutely.
1 SlapDickery 2018-03-11
I’d rather lose my wallet then my freedom tied up in court ala George Zimmerman . A gun is an illusion of safety and a buffer that creates animosity. In fact it’s existence on your person makes you any of your family less safe. Worse case you shoot yourself or you mistake your teen son for an intruder at 3am. It’s also a waste of money, you lock them up and rarely use them.

I didn’t see it mentioned so a full 8 hours of sleep. Test regenerated at night (why you have the levels checked in the morning) and a huge, overlooked factor is that habitual lack of good sleep can lower it.
1 Weareone2 2018-03-11
Ah forgot that one. Probably most important next to stretching.
I don't mean static stretching either. I mean activation based stretches and compound muscle movements to stretch groups of muscles. Isolated muscle stretching is like the bodybuilding of stretching. Better than nothing. But. There is far better things out there.

Obesity plays a role, but the effect still exists even after you control for obesity. There are many different factors at play, and one of the biggest are all of these weird chemicals were are exposed to.

up your zinc levels for sure
1 DeletesAccounts0ften 2018-03-11
I agree with most of what you've said but this statement is inaccurate. Soy is a common preservative in many frozen/pre-made foods. I've found that it's surprisingly difficult to avoid consumption of soy if you're not consistently cooking your own meals. Obviously it's not the only cause of low testosterone but it's one of the many pit falls set out for us little people.
The idea is to cast a wide net, attack the hormone levels with many different factors and the common man is bound to expose themselves somehow. Vigilance is the only real weapon against unwitting consumption of poisons.
1 AtlKolsch 2018-03-11
If you’re 18 and independent, you should be cooking for yourself
1 DeletesAccounts0ften 2018-03-11
Ideally yes, but that is not the reality in America and I believe that is by design.
1 AtlKolsch 2018-03-11
I don’t think it’s particularly easy to do, by design or not, but far from difficult if have any sort of motivation. I work 10hr days and every Sunday I take a few hours out of my day to prep all 15 meals for the week. It’s not difficult, it just takes effort
1 DeletesAccounts0ften 2018-03-11
You're right, it's pretty simple to cook your own meals once you've broke the habit of relying on pre-made processed garbage. I enjoy cooking, but I'm not gonna pretend like it's a breeze.
There are plenty of pitfalls to cooking for yourself as well. Cooking utensils like non-stick pans contain fluoride that cooks into your food at levels that make water fluoridation look laughable.
Unless you grow your own GMO-free, organic garden and raise your own free range animals to slaughter, there are plenty of ways you could be poisoning your body with your diet. So let's not pretend like it's so simple and easy to avoid poisonous chemicals in our daily eating habits.
1 Metalsonic45 2018-03-11
So weight loss boosted your T levels dramatically, or was it the combination of the powerlifting to?
1 taxanonymous 2018-03-11
This is interesting, I was thinking about going to the Dr. not long ago, bc I have experience quite a bit of weight gain (man boobs) and I don't feel as vigorous as I used too. Also my sex drive is way low, and sex just seems like so much work even though I'm horny instead of having sex with my gf I'll usually just masturbate and get it over with. I'm going to do some more research on hormone studies, and average amounts of free testosterone. Always good to have now sources.
1 SacredSocrates 2018-03-11
You should definitely consider having your testosterone levels tested. It's a simple blood test that your doctor will gladly conduct for you. You may even want to consider getting your vitamin and mineral levels tested. Vitamin D-3 deficiency can cause also cause similar symptoms as to what you are experiencing.
1 taxanonymous 2018-03-11
Thanks for the tip, I didn't know that about vitamin D-3. I will for sure be scheduling an appointment with the Dr.
1 MrMarmot 2018-03-11
Search vitamin D on this sub. There have been huge efforts to decrease our exposure and ingestion of this compound (now classified as more of a hormone than a vitamin) starting with sunscreens in the 70s, 9-5 workdays indoors, etc. It's essential to the immune system; as one physician I saw interviewed said: "The first thing T-cells ask when they're released into the bloodstream is 'Do I have enough vitamin D to do my job?'"
1 Golisten2LennyWhite 2018-03-11
I went in for low t and now they think i have a pituitary tumor.
1 nicernow 2018-03-11
Social engineering doesn't end with propaganda.
Consider the generational damage of something like poisoning your water source with industrial waste fluoride.
People still argue viciously for mass drugging with the empty virtue signalling of taking care of the poor who can't manage a trip to the dollar store for a fucking toothbrush and some baking soda.
The programming has also lead people to relish the idea of incrementally destroying themselves with industrial corporate versions of food from the laboratories of benevolent industry.
1 NutritionResearch 2018-03-11
How incompetence, conspiracy, and greed has led to a very toxic environment for humans and animals. Corporations dump waste into rivers. Authorities distort drinking water tests to hide lead contamination. Food additives aren't thoroughly tested. The US Government has little authority to stop unsafe cosmetics.
Anyone who thinks there aren't all kinds of weird effects on the human body after we've completely polluted ourselves and have been exposed to chemicals with unknown effects is naive.
1 Zetterbluntz 2018-03-11
I would cite the rise in women's natural bust sizes as being correlated to the drop in men's testosterone; something is causing both.

I think the downvotes are from the r/conspiracy folks who actually see low T as a badge of honor
1 charbo187 2018-03-11
right though. i tried mining BTC back in like 09-10 when they were really new and worth less than a penny. I couldn't get the software to work and gave up to try later.
i did end up trying again but this was when GPU mining became a thing, it took about 2-3 weeks to mine 1 bitcoin and I would sell them right away for $100.
the idea that your friend would be a billionaire is faulty as well. most likely he would have sold at $10 or $100 or whatever number he decided in his mind was as high as BTC would go.
people DID predict that BTC could be worth $10k someday but that someday was like 2050. no one could have predicted it would rise this fast.

Even if he had decided to mine, the chances of him holding until the riches came in would have been slim to none. I mined when it was like 20-30 a coin. Made a couple hundred before difficulty became too difficult. Most miners sell right away.

While I agree that diet and exercise are paramount for increasing testosterone levels, they are not enough in a society that is actively poisoning us.
Everyone's body is different, but I've found that if you can get a legit source of Tongkat Ali, it is a very effective natural supplement for testosterone. It may not work for everyone but it works for me.
If anyone is thinking about trying Tongkat Ali, take it with some Stinging Nettle Root. That will help to prevent your body from turning the excess testosterone production into estrogen. I've also found that supplements like Pygeum, P5P, & L-Arginine also help tremendously with testosterone and overall male health (prostate, muscles, sex drive, etc.).
I used to have a light case of Gynecomastia and after almost 2 years of Tongkat Ali, the majority of the breast tissue is gone. I believe Gynecomastia is a sign that we are being manipulated on a hormonal level, since I was never overweight in my teenage years and developed breast tissue during puberty at 13.
I'm not an expert on health and wellness and I don't claim that this will work for everyone. But it worked for me so I'm sharing my anecdotal evidence. I believe our bodies are capable of healing on their own more than we know.

Jacking off can lower testosterone?
1 jiggawatts214 2018-03-11
If interested, go over to r/nofap. It's a lot of neat info over there.
I know we're all told that jacking it is "natural" and all that mumbo-jumbo. Look around the animal kingdom ...
There is a lot of anecdotal evidence that ties back to jacking it (especially too often) as being detrimental to health, especially Mental Health ... depression, anxiety, social anxiety, yatta yatta.
When your natural T is up, and your mood is good (takes practice to get used to, as PMA is an ADDICTION), you will/may notice that folks (ladies AND dudes) respond / react to you differently.
I relate that when I'm on a good streak, it was "door opening". Ladies can smell/sense the energy from you. They will damn near approach you just to check ya out.
Men are diseased with Porn & Anti-Masculine Ideology. Women are diseased with Hormones & Unrealistic Expectations.

Interesting. I look at masturbation like I look at cigarettes. I mean I quit smoking (also drinking), but I don't waste 4 hours a day looking at porn either. If anything once or twice a week for maybe 15 min total?
My depression/anxiety(social) etc is definitely from my childhood and being abused which was then made worse with my experience in the military.
For me honestly I was thinking about trying to end it again and it's weird to admit, but LSD saved my life. Took pretty much everything away. The depression, the suicidal thoughts, the anxiety it's all gone. I am more at center with myself then I have ever been. All the negativity from my life has washed away. I don't feel like piece of shit anymore. I now MD once a month. And all the pills from the VA are gone. I'm now pill free and feeling like I did when I was a teen. (late 20's now)
I will look more into nofap and see if I can benefit any further from it. Probably just eliminating porn for 90 days to see where that goes would probably help. I can understand how watching porn can affect the brain. I found out about porn when I was like 7 and didn't have anyone to explain to me what it was. But also didn't let it control my life.
I'm married now so I could care less about the attractivity of other women, but I can see how you would feel more confident about yourself and less shame about it. Even though no one should. The old saying goes, men cum to their senses.
Thanks for the insightful response.

Yes. Everything in context. To be aware that some affect is happening is crutch.
As we grow up, how much True education do we get about sex, it's impact, it's role, it's use in our lives?
The main message we get, is that "it's natural", "express yourself", "some is good, more is better!" ... blah blah. It's a tough bag. It's hard to disagree with fun.
To a discerning mind, an affect is noticed. It is pondered. It is investigated.
Everything is linked.

Glad you're feeling better!
Your story gives me hope for my boyfriend. I want to suggest that he gets his bloodwork done to check his hormone levels, but he has been really sensitive lately and I don't want to risk hurting his feelings. (Yes, I realize our gender roles sound flipped, that's the problem)
1 thinkB4Uact 2018-03-11
Fapping is not evil. Religion is evil, as it separates us from peace, freedom harmony and joy. It happens when we believe dogma or derivative beliefs from it. Religion is having us judge normal behavior as harmful an in doing so we are harming ourselves, creating unnecessary fear and friction with other people. Sex is not against life, life wouldn't be here without it. Shame on those who insert unnecessary shame into it.
1 iWatern 2018-03-11
Bit simplistic if the t-levels are on average (!) 60% lower than they were in the 80s. The (freaking) frogs are dying and you are blaming internet porn? I'm really into sports but I'm pretty certain I have below average t-levels (hard gains, high voice, no beard). Always considered making a testosterone therapy when I hit 40 or 45 but reading this makes me want to at least take a test. On the flipside it sure isn't great being hooked on drugs for the rest of your life.

And lay off the fucking soy. I know there's a ton of r/politics soyboys on this sub.
1 FireBreathingRabbit 2018-03-11
Soy doesn't have any impact on testosterone levels. Nice job parroting nonsense you seen on some blog.

TAKE IODINE....just google for the connection with hormones. Iodine is amazing, and increases energy and lessens brain fog.
1 SacredSocrates 2018-03-11
Thanks for this. Been doing some reading about iodine in combination with selenium. Bought both to take alongside one another. Will report back. 👍
1 90sRnBMakesMeHappy 2018-03-11
Awesome! I eat Brazilian nuts(1-2) for my daily selenium. I need to get more strict with doing it daily, and thanks for this note, it's my reminder to do that!

My PA's recommendation for the same symptoms and 'a normal testosterone level' was to take 2,000-3,000 IU per day. This helped some but to be honest, CBD has been a better remedy.
There's concern with externally elevating T due to the increased risk of cancer of the nuts and what not.
1 ibtar 2018-03-11
you didn't specify what you were taking but by that dosage i'm assuming it was vitamin d?
1 bigbura 2018-03-11
Thank you for that, it was Vitamin D I was talking about.
PA's thinking for the lack of Vitamin D is folks just don't go outside anymore so we fall behind on the Vitamin D. At the time I talked to him about this I was working 3PM to 3AM on a 4 on, 3 off schedule, so yeah, I didn't get much sunlight. Living in the Pacific Northwest of the US didn't help either due to the perma clouds for more than half the year.
1 Spartan_Strong 2018-03-11
CBD raises your levels?
1 bigbura 2018-03-11
Helps with the anxiety and depression symptoms and helps with chronic pain also.
Didn't mean to imply CBD has anything to do with T levels since it doesn't.
1 Spartan_Strong 2018-03-11
I actually just learned CBD it totally legal without a medical card. I'll probably try it soon, they claim it's non psychoative but I know from my younger wilder days that it does have some affect. I'm gonna get on that soon.
1 bigbura 2018-03-11
r/CBD has resources for finding reputable, companies that post their batch test results to ensure you are getting 99% pure isolate, i.e. no THC, so no pyschoative reactions. There's dosage recommendations and FAQs on getting started and companies to avoid due to them including synthetic THC which has given some folks rather nasty reactions.
That sub got me going down this path and I'm so glad I did take that first step.

As one who is 2/3 nug by body weight; check out cbd American shaman products.
By far the most delicious and effective tinctures, and because they're just vegetable glycerin and cannabinoids, the tinctures can be vaped too.

1 TupacsFather 2018-03-11
This has been a big concern of mine for a while. Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. This is something we need to actively be speaking out about and bringing to people's conscious awareness. It's also very troubling to know that LabCorp lowered their standard of testosterone levels in men, rather than address the issue of lowering T levels and how to fix it. Along with the chemicals in our food and water, I think technology has a big role in all of this as well. Too much screen time, bad posture, less movement, porn, radiation, etc. Not to mention our mental and emotional states we are in. A lot of this is psychosomatic I believe. I think in conjunction with making conscious decisions regarding our diet and exercise, we can help expedite the healing process with our thoughts and intentions.

Hey guys it's just a coincidence that this unexplained decrease in testosterone coincides with all the feminization of men in the media... all the lgbt stuff, non-binary gender crap, men dressing like women, just all one big magic coincidence... you guys with your wacky conspiracies and tin foil hats.

1 XOXO_HandBanana_XOXO 2018-03-11
I now I have lower testosterone than what's healthy. Yes, it affects me. I chalk it up to a lack of exercise with a few other factors. One of the bigger ones was my wife taking Birth Control pills. It messed with her hormones and attitude, and it also messed with mine as a secondary trait. She's since gone off the pill, and it's made a difference in both of us.
1 Zetterbluntz 2018-03-11
I could see that being a factor

Check your testosterone levels. Cites a 10 year old study. What is your source for all of this information? Where did you find the median tst levels?
1 SacredSocrates 2018-03-11
Just because a study is 10 years old doesn't mean that it doesn't hold merit. I guess a long-term qualitative study with 1,700 participants isn't sufficient for you. https://uk.reuters.com/article/health-testosterone-levels-dc/mens-testosterone-levels-declined-in-last-20-years-idUKKIM16976320061031
1 drAsparagus 2018-03-11
Get you some Tribulus terrestris, preferably from Bulgaria. It contains steroidal saponins, which increases T production. I've been taking it off and on for around 10 years. The only negative side effect I've ever noticed is a propensity for 'road rage' if I've been taking too much over too many days consecutively.

Check back with me in 7 years see how you feel about guns (handguns/ assault rifles.). Tell me if you are happier with them in your life. Sporting guns are excluded, I enjoy skeet and trap.
Also, add up the value of all your guns now. In 7 years let’s compare the value of your guns to the value of the money if it was put in an S&P 500 etf for those 7 years.
