Anyone else perceiving this whole Facebook "scandal" more as Zuckerberg has done something to seriously displease the people who own the major media companies?

So I'm thinking more like this is some kind of political shit, either Zuckerberg is resisting power grabs or potentially even (on a much deeper level of vast conspiracy) the whole thing in its entirety is for show for whatever myriad of reasons to make us think whatever myriad of things (Zuckerberg working with Gov.)
Just curious to hear the thoughts of anyone else seeing it this way

Do you mean that by cooperating with Cambridge Analytica, facebook had more effect on the vote than the MSM media had?
That kind of displeasure?
1 lookingatfood 2018-04-11
That does seem to be an accurate genre of displeasure.

Thanks for the thought, you might be on to the current war for dominance of the U.S. narrative and messaging.

It's hilarious that they've been backed into a corner of either having actively supported Cambridge Analytica, or passively supported "Russian troll factories."

I think that is an and, not an or, on Cambridge Analytica and Russian troll factories.

This is only what we know of - what "they" let us know.

I said it as it was happening, and I'll say it again; Zuckerberg is the one who is guilty of swaying an election.

It could also be all theatrics too. Distraction.

Yes, Zuckerberg has too much power for this ruckus to be motivated by genuine moral/legal concern.

anyone's guess what the means justified ends might be, but it always lends a nice wholesome feeling to see all the freaks in our yellow submarine shredding the shit outta the msm

Soros gave a speech at Davos slamming Facebook. Ever since then the attacks on MZ have been coming pretty frequent

Scapegoats and Distraction.
Democracy Now, NPR, etc. are all fixated on it too so you know the CFR has them in the target.
Reddit is infinitely easier to manipulate with bots than Facebook and whenever the MSM hyper-fixates on a non-issue you know something is up. Bottom up media distrubition is how you lose control of the narrative and that scared the PTB.
Just expect misinfotainment and subterfuge from billionare owned media.

they created facebook to spy on us, now they are realizing that people are exchanging ideas and reaching to each other, and they dont want that

Zuckerberg is being punished for helping Trump win.
Facebook double dipped. They promised to help Hillary win the election, but then sold data to Cambridge Analytica which they then used to buy targeted ads on Facebook for the Trump campaign. They accepted money from both sides, and sold targeted ads for both parties.
Those ads with Cambridge Analyticas extra data targeting are what made the difference in swing states enabling Trump to win.
This testimony is his "punishment" by the powers that be by forcing him into the public eye for scrutiny. They're basically publicly shaming him, but Zuckerberg played his cards well. He paid off 85% of the senators interviewing him, and lobbied for softball questions so he could basically turn his testimony into a PR campaign for Facebook.
He also is not under oath so he can lie as much as he wants without risk of perjury.

Plausible.

It's doesn't matter whether FB made a difference for Trump - it's a convenient scapegoat, like Russia.

Zuck wasn't even questioned under oath. Seems like kabuki theatre so far.

Wired had a piece on his relationship with Rupert Murdoch recently. Didn't seem particularly warm...
1 rigorousintuition 2018-04-11
I see it as political theatre - Zuckerberg has been on the record several times in the past simply saying 'sorry' and this is just another one of those times.

And they keep glossing over ex darpa employees.
1 dennis8844 2018-04-11
The way I see it, it's a show of power the old politicians are doing, trying to install some kind of dominance over the company, however MZ knows his power only grows, as new politicians who grew up using (or having friends use) fb products start gaining power. Think of the future leverage he, and the NSA have.
