The insulated circle jerk on r/greatwakening

1  2018-06-13 by SofaKingWat

God forbid you have any doubts or questions. All hail Trump and Q no matter what. According to this sub they are a biblical prophesy come true. Everything is “trust the plan” no matter what happens. “No coincidences” no matter if they simply are. I am intrigued by Q but I learned long ago that blind trusting faith is what leads sleep to slaughter. I was banned for being a voice that asked questions. I think we all know how that will end. If Trump fails or if Q ends up being a false lead they will cling to the idea that the bad guys won over our true saviors. They quote scripture and repeat meaningless chants to shut out all discourse. This is exactly why CBTS was shut down. It’s selective racism at best. Thoughts immediately pivot to praise whatever Trump does. NK.? Trump is a peace warrior. Canada? They are screwing us over. Russia? Trump is winning. Mexico? Hell yeah we need a wall. Syria? He is playing them. Israel? Trump knows best. Iran? Listen to Bolton his latest pick. None of it makes sense or is consistent. Ask why and you are told to trust the plan of a failed business man who operates from the art of the deal. A tired old strategy of bullying and bullshitting. He is a master of that.

Do you have an actual complaint?

I think if you read what I wrote, you might have caught it. Chiefly comp, etc hypocrisy claiming to hoping for the good of all while selectively shutting out any discourse or different points of view. Does that sound all inclusive, does that promote democracy and free speech? It’s not that difficult.

Is r/politics a country?

I don’t think it is. I think it’s a sub that also has issues with allowing different viewpoints. Exactly my point. Welcome aboard patriot. Godspeed. Trust the plan.

I really don't care what r/politics does...I really don't care what greatawakening does..I don't care...I don't go to those subs..I don't try to have a dialogue with them...I leave them alone. It's very simple.

I hang out here...I like it here.

Wasn’t that entire post a complaint? And sorry, but it’s completely true. That sub has turned into a joke.

Their complaint seems to be that they ban dissenters to silence them. Their complaint seems to be that that type demands absolute blind loyalty to Trump and the government. This should be extremely clear from reading the post. Are you joking?

Why is it people complain when us Trump people have our two sanctuaries but the left gets to dominate every other sub and kill discussion on this website?

If greatawakening is considered a sanctuary for Trump supporters them his whole following is worse than anyone could have imagined. That place is one long human centipede of psychotic delusion.

If you want o live in an unchallenged echo chamber and hear no ideas that run counter to yours you might not belong in a democracy. I get how it sucks being the minority. I was in it after 9/11 and the Bush war march. Then when Obama continued it after promising hope and change. But I certainly stood up for my beliefs and engaged my fellow citizens no matter how much I disagreed with them. I didn’t seek for them to be silenced. On the contrary, I talked with them. One of these approaches is not like the other.

Don't tell me about echo chambers when 95% of all news, media, and major websites are anti-Trump bullshit troughs.

Might be good reason to allow people to share ideas instead of creating a new echo chamber of your own.

Sharing ideas sounds like a good idea until it turns into a derailed shitshow. The Q sub has a dedicated theme and agenda. It's better the way it is without people trying to turn it into a back-and-forth political forum like this one turned into.

This person isn't posting on your agenda driven sub.

Don't complain about disagreement elsewhere, Christ.

The only reason they moved to insulated communities is that people did nothing but shit on them here. If people in /r/conspiracy were a bit more civil towards them here, they might not have felt like they needed a refuge. It's not just about disagreement. They face outright hostility and ridicule here just because they believe a particular conspiracy theory.

I tend to think Q is legit based solely on the amount of shilling the topic gets on this sub. I don’t follow Q or politics but I do recognize the same accounts using the same lines regarding Q. I’ve seen that pattern enough to know they are employed to comment on the Q topic. Which in itself lends some credibility to the hole thing for me.

I tend to think Q is legit based solely on the amount of shilling the topic gets on this sub. I don’t follow Q or politics but I do recognize the same accounts using the same lines regarding Q.

What's "shilling" to you?

I’ve seen that pattern enough to know they are employed to comment on the Q topic. Which in itself lends some credibility to the whole thing for me.

Isn't this just inflating your own intelligence?

That may be true that it is more of a conspiracy sub, but digging through the sub is difficult. It's a bunch of blind, fanatical, sheep that who follow to their master's tune. The amount of nationalism and worship they have for trump and this country is nauseating. They themselves are only slightly more awake than the average person hanging by the thread their master Q has them strung up by. "Oh are you hungry? Here is another little bread crumb to feed my puppets."

Btw I do think Q is an insider but don't give a shit about sifting through all that nonsense. I really feel like people think by trying to decipher his post that they themselves are helping to change the world and that is really crazy. Figuring out what he is posting about isn't changing anything about the world. It's all ready happening. If they would only follow Q's advice and trust the plan and shut up about it a little maybe someone could actual figure some of it out. I do know one thing for sure Donald trump is not the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The left dominates with sound logic, not by banning dissenting opinions. That’s the difference. The left doesn’t have sanctuaries aside from maybe late stage capitalism.

The right demands safe spaces because their ideas don’t hold up to scrutiny.

I'm not going to debate with you on the steaming left vs right debate, altough i have some questions for you.

What is a sanctuary for you? Is it a place where a minority (of opinion) can gather and share their thoughts without censorship?

What about a majority (of opinion)? Would the vast abstract place they occupy also be considered a sanctuary, for the purpose of propagating their own ideas with no opposition?

He won, get over it. You can't claim to be the minority any more, assuming the implication is that real Americans voted for him.

Either way, for me it comes down to fair moderation. No one's banning right-leaning folks from /r/news or /r/politics for voicing their opinion. People are free to downvote if they want to. The same cannot be said of the right's signature safe spaces here on reddit.

Jesus Christ you all are relentless with this negative bullshit

Banning folks from discussion and limiting free speech is some pretty relentless negative bullshit IMO. At least in the country I was raised in.

Lol. Read the title of your thread. Tactics on tactics on tactics this week

Did I get your attention? Will you likely notice it more and ask questions yourself? I hope so... yep, tactics and tactics. Got that right.

So glad this was block text so I didn't read it.

I know! Any ideas that challenge one to think are just so... challenging.

Says the guy who can't read the map lol

See what happens when you make assumptions based on someone having a different point of view and not talking to find out more... you shut your mind and label. Carry on patriot?

I get down votes? Boo hoo hoo big deal

Bring em

How am I expected to discern a signal with this much noise? /s

Edit it and add some fuckin paragraphs dude. Please lol.

Added. You still won’t read it or have anything meaningful to add.

lol... Bub.

Lol what? I agree with you my dude. It just needed paragraphs so people could actually read it, ya know?

Ok! My bad!

All good fam

Or you could just read through all the Q drops and make up your own mind. That's what I did.

Yep. This thread is for clowns

They said, posting.

I am... and as I said I am intrigued. But if think for myself and ask any questions that go against the grain then the pitchforks come out. They really aren’t interested in anything beyond Q and Trump will save us! I tend to believe things are a bit more complicated that they make them out to be. It’s a power play alright. History has seen these types of “saviors” before with mixed results.

I've had a very different experience but each to their own.

Just stick with your own critical thinking ;)

Whoever q is, there are some interesting crumbs here and there.

I just say, read through everything, and make up your own mind. I mean why do anything else.

Exactly... Im in WA state and found the whole missile thing very interesting because several atmospheric experts agreed it looks like a missile launch.

Plus i did find it interesting that autocorrect is everywhere, yet Trump misspelled "missle" and "stoped" right before the summit with Kim...

https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2018/06/donald-trump-tweets-two-spelling-mistakes-before-meeting-kim-jong-un.html

Sunday morning at 3:56 am... "Missile launch"

http://q13fox.com/2018/06/11/missile-launch-lens-flare-mysterious-object-spotted-over-whidbey-island-raises-questions/

I mean it just very obviously and clearly looks like a missile. The article seems like some bizarre attempt to convince me it's somehow a helicopter. That's quite frankly fucking ridiculous.

The Trump tweet thing is pretty weird too.

I dunno, in this day and age, I tend to trust what I actually see over what people are telling me I'm seeing.

WWG1WGA... except for r/greatawakening.

This post is actually proving my point. These great American patriots who claim to want to save all of mankind from the evil clutches of entrenched world power don’t care to offer me even the most basic of rights... Free Speech.

Lol people disagreeing with you is not equivalent to losing your right to speak.

don’t care to offer me even the most basic of rights... Free Speech.

Unless you've been arrested for voicing your opinion, you can relax...your first amendment rights are fully intact.

Try saying one positive thing about Trump on r/politics.

Well you see you can't do that because you'd have to cite it from an approved* mainstream publication first. This is the longstanding policy of /r/politics because "muh logic and reason" and "the left doesn't need safe spaces" et cetera.

*leftist

I too find Q intriguing. It is clear he has intel but it is also clear he is providing psyops as well. As far as that sub goes its best to just avoid the comment section altogether because they have blinders on and there will NEVER be open and real discussion.

I think that is a true shame. I wish it were different. Could be some great discussions going on with different perspectives adding to the whole thing. Again, a damn shame that some feel threatened by different IDEAS.

The sad part is when I see people posting about how their relationships with their family and spouses have been strained do to their obsession with Q. I dont see racism really going on there just a giant bucket of delusion. Eventually they will figure out that the whole thing is bullshit but that could end up being years from now. They will eventually find out they were wrong about Mueller when he wraps up his investigation and they realize he wasn't secretly working with Trump to take down the deep state.

The whole thing is bigger than Q at this point. The people drawn to the movement are there for the community now. They want to believe they are a part of something bigger than themselves. It doesnt surprise me at all that so many of the Q people are old and super Christian. A lot of them have nothing to do during the day and are already prone to magical thinking.

It sounds like a cult. A dangerous cult, if it's alienating people from their families and friends.

The toxicity of your thinking is horrifying. I hope you're a shill or else, damn.

Removed. Rule 10.

I know you're trying to make some point here but using my text and subbing out words didn't work at all. Maybe the first part about not letting it strain your marriage or family, sure. But basically everything else makes no sense with your substitutions.

Maybe not for all your points, but the psychology behind Q supporters and supporters of political parties is the same. They each think their chosen idol has the power and the inclination to "fix the system;" that the problems we face are not due to our political system itself, but only the wrong people running that system. Once the "good guys" get in power and rid the government of the "bad guys," everything will be better.

They all think we can vote our way to freedom.

I would imagine that there are 3 reasons people are drawn to their beliefs. Part logic, part social, and part emotional. To me, the Q group leaves out the logic entirely. Because they look at the world and say all this must not be true because the emotional and social aspect to this belief structure are more important.

So they see Trump is being investigated. They say this must not be true, Mueller must be secretly working for Trump and the reality everyone else sees is fake.

Trump clearly has had some problems with Sessions. But Q keeps saying trust Sessions, so they look at the reality the rest of us see and say that must not be true. It's all a show so the deep state doesnt know what's coming.

Q told them Trump made a deal with North Korea months ago. So they see the talks going on right now and think it's all a show.

These are illogical concepts where their beliefs are entirely driven by the emotion theyve invested into what some messiah on the internet as told them to be true. And that's why it doesnt matter what Q says, hes right by definition just by saying something. So I understand people are drawn to groups. But this Q group doesnt act like every other group.

I think there's certainly a difference between your average Q supporter and your average Dem/Republican supporter, but I think it's more a matter of degree than kind. I don't think most D/R voters are using much logic to arrive at their conclusions.

their beliefs are entirely driven by the emotion theyve invested into what some messiah on the internet as told them to be true.

This is true to a large, though lesser, extent with D/R voters as well. People support major party candidates because they like the promises these politicians make, and they think the politicians are capable and willing to fulfill these promises. When they fail to fulfill them, their supporters accept the stories that it's just "the other side's" fault.

Sure, some D/R's lose support and reject their former candidates, but so have many one-time Q supporters.

I think it's all astroturf. Just a PR campaign to keep "conspiracy theorists" supporting Trump even while he fulfills the deep state's goals.

It's sort of like a cult following. Stumbled upon one time, don't really plan on going back..

For me the most frustrating thing about Great Awakening is that they seem to think they are Republican and yet few accept pedophilia is a problem among the Republican party to put in mildly. Lots of hate on the Democrats many are unaware the two party system is entirely corrupt.

The real sad part is R/conspiracy is starting to look more like R/Democrats. I can't even believe any of the posts that I see in that sub these days. So much so that I have stopped even opening anything from my feed in there. If I do it's now for amusement

You're mad because we remove your "dissenting" posts for violating our community standards. You are regularly bitter and don't show respect to people on the sub. People have disagreeing opinion there all day long but don't resort to personal attacks to win an arguement. We don't play that game... Read rule 3 and 5. GA exists to support the work of the Q Military Intelligence team. If it violates our community standards we reserve the right to remove it. Thank Q.

Great Awakening Rules..

  1. No encouraging, glorifying or calling for violence.
  2. No releasing private or personal information.
  3. Support the cause. We are pro-Q supporters.
  4. No racism or anti-semitism.
  5. Discuss the topic, not users.
  6. Be on-topic.
  7. No duplication or excess memes
  8. Keep it honest and accurate.
  9. Good quality posts.
