I'm a political democratic fundraiser. While researching an organization I raise funds for I found something interesting.

I have to go to work in a few hours so I'll make this very quick. I'm using a throwaway account as well so please excuse me.
I recently started working for a progressive political fundraising call center and things were looking good. I believed in the cause and was squeezing everyone I called to get some money for the democrats running for election. Last week I got a new client to call for. 21st Century Democrats. This is a superpac designed to push more "progressive" and "Leftist" candidates vs more moderate democrats.
I called a gentlemen to ask him for money and support for the 21st Century Democrats and he started to tell me how the money wasn't going to candidates and most of it was getting pocketed but I didn't believe him. At least pretended to cause my boss was listening to my calls.
Today I started researching 21st Century Democrats and found this very interesting article by Washington Examiner:
The very interesting part of the article is this:
The reality is that the only significant recipient of the PAC's funds was Integral Resources, a Cambridge, Mass. dial-for-dollars telemarketing firm that received nearly $2 million since 2009.
IRI - the people I work for - have been raising funds for 21st Century for a while now, we still do. a quick look at OpenSecrets.org shows that 21st Century paid IRI in 2018 around $650,000

That kinda made me feel uneasy because our work environment is terrible. We are using Windows XP machines running DOS to call senior citizens and ask them for petty donations. Meanwhile all the managers keep complaining that the company is broke. The job is a job I don't really care at this point but I dug deeper.
The CEO of IRI is Ronald Rosenblith. He founded the company in 1985 to use telemarketing tactics for fundraising. His ingenious idea was to group every democratic cause together and mass fundraiser all throughout the year. That means if you donate to either a NON-POLITICAL charitable cause or a political one, you will be called by every organization and committee out there looking for donations. What's very interesting is that 21st Century was also established in 1985 and Ron and Tim Harkin were close friends.
in 2008 IRI got in trouble because an organization at the time called Women's Voices Womens Vote, sent out a suspicious call to NC voters, urging them to register to vote with a packet that was in the mail for them, even though the deadline for registration was over 5 days ago. Heres the kicker, The CEO of WVWV is married to Ronald Rosenblith. It's allegeded that they were trying to suppress black voters in Hilary Vs. Obama.
in 2013 they got banned from calling Iowa for five years because of their predatory practices - I can attest to that very predatory indeed - which is the only other thing I found on the news from them that was recent.

The rest of my investigation didn't net any results. Most of our clients are reputable but the amount of money we are raising is unfathomable:

Close to $10 million in around a year and some months. I can answer any questions you have regarding fundraising operations. Any sort of info you guys have to help me complete this picture would be appreciated as well.

Better business Bureau for starters , then go to you local news broadcasters , in this area it’s called Fox News trouble shooters , people complain the news does an expose and tries to get to the bottom of bull shit . People need to know ( I have known for years any charity is basically full of shit ) and will not donate to corporate “charity” , but I will take bums off the corner to get a meal or hand them clothing , blankets , jackets , shoes , sock , toothpaste and tooth brush , deodorants basic needs

Noted, was definitely going to try to contact the news. Not sure about BBB. They are not that reputable. I heard thru the grapevine that reviews and grades can be bought on that website. I might contact them as well just for more exposure. We'll see.

Careful leaking too much about the Dems... You may end up shooting yourself in the back of the head with a long barrel shotgun.
Or we might find out you're Russian. You sound Russian.
1 IAmNotMrRager 2018-06-14
I wish I was Russian. Then I knew WTF is going on...

Also as a side note this the organizations "phone number" 202-768-9222 which is linked to a google voice account. What type of a reputable organization uses google voice as a primary phone number? nobody ever picks up the phone even during work hours...

I use one all the time, very flexible when I want to make calls from my desktop.
1 YourHeadWillCollapse 2018-06-14
How many organizations do you operate this way?
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-06-14
I can't say I operate one, but as a member of organization who uses one, I think it is roughly the same idea.
1 YourHeadWillCollapse 2018-06-14
He asked how many organizations use Google voice for their main number.
Is your organization's main number a Google voice number?
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-06-14
For fundraising, yes.
1 YourHeadWillCollapse 2018-06-14
That's still not their primary number.
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-06-14
Primary number for fundraising, mate ;)
1 IAmNotMrRager 2018-06-14
This is the main number for the Organization. the people who should answer to the donors about where the money is going. But no one ever picks up and its linked to a google voice account. THIS IS NOT THE NUMBER THEY CALL WITH TO ASK DONATIONS. I think you can see the difference now. Their primary number should be an office landline because they've been established since 1985.
1 YourHeadWillCollapse 2018-06-14
Thank you. :)
1 YourHeadWillCollapse 2018-06-14
IAmNotMrRager, addressed you adequately, mate. ;)
1 IAmNotMrRager 2018-06-14
Do you take in millions of solicitated donations without reporting who those funds go to as well? Cause you might be on the right track lol Their website doesn't have a phone number this was provided to me by work and I can't even reach them over the phone.
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-06-14
I wish I had that kind of bankroll, but that is indeed odd.
1 BUT_MUH_GUNS_THO 2018-06-14
Wow. That's fucked up.
1 IAmNotMrRager 2018-06-14
We still call people for 21st Century too. I gotta be at work with a straight face pretending idk shit its gonna be wonderful.
1 rebuilt11 2018-06-14
My guess is this is all set up to waste progressive money in essence strengthening the dnc
1 IAmNotMrRager 2018-06-14
Exactly. Then they turn around and ask for more donations

“Windows xp machines running dos”?
1 mastersyrron 2018-06-14
If it's anything but DOS 6.0, I'm calling this whole post BS.
1 IAmNotMrRager 2018-06-14
It's DOS 6.0. The automated dialer runs on DOS but we run the software from xp. It's not really a dos. I'mma snope around the computer see if I can figure out more. It's very hard cause the right click function is disabled and the start menu has nothing in it on top of that I'm being monitored constantly haha

If you can do a CTRL-ALT-DEL, and can run task manager, you can start a new task called "explorer.exe" and you should get a start bar.
Also try WIN-R to open a RUN prompt.
And if you have access to the DOS shell, you can run explorer.exe or taskmgr.exe
1 mastersyrron 2018-06-14
Well I was being a smartass but yeah sounds right ...
1 IAmNotMrRager 2018-06-14
Sorry man I was taking this a bit serious as well. Just confused by this whole thing.
1 ifeelcoke 2018-06-14
These systems are still in use in penny pinching call centers. I worked for a crooked credit company that had them. Now I'm in telco, you still see them around.
1 highonstress 2018-06-14
I used to work for a charity and that is why I’ll never give to charity again.
Such a scam.
1 MisterMouser 2018-06-14
Thank you for caring and being honest about this.
