Anybody else watch that Obama speech?
1 2018-09-07 by everythingwas19
I think the purpose of his speech was supposed to be rallying voters for midterms but it was pure doom porn. I am curious to see what others thought.
Came off as desperate to me. Talking about the dark times we live in, Nazis, racial nationalism, we must stop Trump, KGB is taking over, Trump must not let the FBI/DOJ target his opponents, etc. Very long, dramatic awkward pauses with only talk about how evil and wrong everything is and we must rise up type of talk. Have never seen a former President do something like this.

Evidently we did not watch the same speech.
1 everythingwas19 2018-09-07
Was 100% trying to appeal to emotions.
1 pinkmaybebabycrazy 2018-09-07
Of course, he's trying to get people amped up to vote in the upcoming election. There was a lot appearing to emotions. That doesn't translate to "only talk about how evil and wrong everything is and we must rise up type of talk". Not at all.

OP appears to post frequently in T_D so I assume he has a warped view of anything Trump dislikes
1 eleven4for20 2018-09-07
OP is posting on subs on Reddit... You mean using Reddit? Just like you? What an astute observation!
1 IDebunkFE_AMA 2018-09-07
Dont play dumb.
If I was posting frequently on /r/socialism and suddenly posting shit critical of capitalism on other sub you dont thinnk I might have a preexisting bias?
Besides its almost like its a... conspiracy to misrepresent a speech to move a talking point.
1 eleven4for20 2018-09-07
Rather than disputing the content of OP's thread you pulled a "look guizes he posts on TD!"
1 IDebunkFE_AMA 2018-09-07
Again... Dont play dumb.
What I wrote it being upvoted because people know that T_D is the single largest echo chamber on this site.
Feel free to disagree with me, you are more than welcome to but if you havent been over to that sub go check it out.
Its not a coincidence that OP just dropped by to say shit about Obama he has an objective.

/r/politics would like a word with you
1 IDebunkFE_AMA 2018-09-07
Im banned from both
1 toxic_piano 2018-09-07
That's hilarious. I'm banned from /r/politics and /r/news.

Are you going by subscribers or feelings?

So if a politics poster decided to post something here shitting on Trump its cool?
1 eleven4for20 2018-09-07
That doesn't answer my question. It is clear TD is not the largest echo chamber. Are we having a conversation that is grounded in reality?
1 IDebunkFE_AMA 2018-09-07
Its a giant echo chamber lol
You are just arguing size dude.
THis is ridiculous.

Not the most popular echo chamber lol but a giant one nonetheless

t_d posters have an established theme, bias set, and near universal aggressiveness that has called this judgment down on their own heads through incessant coordinated downvote and post brigades.
I have never had even a neutral discussion with a t_d poster in the entire time it has existed.
And I can see the cross-pollination from the cesspool that is /pol, and know them of old.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-07
Don't you think that where he posts has some impact on what he is saying? What would happen to his posting privileges in those subs if he said something neutral / positive about someone who trump currently doesn't like?
1 alcogiggles 2018-09-07
Yes, and so does everyone else on this planet. And I mean everyone. So now we're left with debating each others content. So, are you going to address the content or continue making obvious observations that mean nothing?
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-07
No because he didn't even attempt to view the speech in an unbiased fashion. Nothing that we say that goes against what he knows to be true will be listened to.
1 everythingwas19 2018-09-07
Oh my, imagine my shame! You caught me. Make sure to read the posts I make in t_d were I disagree with Trump and the mods on that sub too.
FTFY

I dont really care where you post but its just more partisan division.
You came here to stir shit no make a point,.
1 qoa 2018-09-07
You're in his post attempting to get him shunned by calling him a partisan, and blaming him for your attitude. That kind of shit doesn't work on the internet as well as it used to. I'll save you some keystrokes. I posted on the q subreddit talking about wrestling. So clearly you'll say I'm an idiot trying to divide.
1 everythingwas19 2018-09-07
You have numerous posts in this thread that say otherwise.
1 paige2424 2018-09-07
He said Benghazi is a conspiracy.
1 pinkmaybebabycrazy 2018-09-07
No, he said there are conspiracy theories AROUND Benghazi.
1 LevLeviev 2018-09-07
Someone should investigate that 13 times
1 paige2424 2018-09-07
What do you mean? I thought this was r/conspiracy that’s why I posted it
1 LevLeviev 2018-09-07
What do you mean?
I was sarcastically referring to the multiple GOP Benghazi investigatons.
Yes, this is /r/conspiracy.
1 paige2424 2018-09-07
How do you feel about Obama saying that?
1 LevLeviev 2018-09-07
/u/paige2424 replied and deleted it before I could post my reply so here's what I had written.
I found the quote as I hadn't seen the speech.
I think he was exactly right in what he siad.

Yes I did delete my post. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
1 paige2424 2018-09-07
He said embrace wild conspiracy theories like Benghazi. Sorry it made me mad I wrote it the wrong way
1 previouslyhuman 2018-09-07
There was a conspiracy, the conspiracy was to use the Legislative branch of government to destroy a political opponent.
A several years long, paid for by tax money, strictly partisan political attack.
1 previouslyhuman 2018-09-07
And we have never seen a sitting president behave like Trump.
I am a Democrat voter, but I didn't listen to the speech, and probably won't, I don't need reinforcement or bias confirmation, and I prefer humor, wit, snark and smirks to, "serious." It helps me stay rational in dismal times.
1 ColtN0ir 2018-09-07
Tell me, how is he behaving? I'll take examples, please.
And remember, we had Bill Clinton in office at one point.
1 pinkmaybebabycrazy 2018-09-07
Are you honestly trying to claim that Trump isn't--doesn't sell himself as--a president that is fundamentally different than the presidents we've had before?
1 ColtN0ir 2018-09-07
So no examples? Cool.
1 missdingdong 2018-09-07

Meanwhile, leading Dem voice and WaPo owner Jeff Bezos is being criticized for treating employees like 21st century slaves on the frontpage of r/conspiracy. It is wise to take anything leading Dems say with a grain of salt.
1 shep17 2018-09-07
Lol Jeff Bezos leading Dem voice? You're outside of your mind.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-07
You should make note that you are required to only say negative things about Obama due to you losing access to popular subs if you don't.
One should always disclose their bias when making statements such as the one you just made.
1 WooTs_67 2018-09-07
Yea that speech was 100% doom porn. All the talking points and shit. Of course you have the shills coming in here to praise that shit. This sub is doomed, its only going to get worse because of midterms.
