That's a good one. Haven't heard much about this since the confirmation hearings started. Haven't heard anything about this since the allegations first arose.
All the fuckery that has been going down in New Mexico; the Solar observatory and that Amalia compound coverup. The one year anniversary of the biggest mass murder in US history in Las Vegas which has been completely buried. And the UN conference on High Seas territorial limits that took place a couple of days ago where nothing was accomplished.
Enjoy some some floating plastic bags and BPA containers with your next tuna fish sandwich.
America is a golden calf and we will suck it dry, chop it up, and sell it piece by piece until there is nothing left but the world's biggest welfare state that we will create and control. This is what we do to countries that we hate. We destroy them very slowly.

Gaining the fifth Supreme Court for a crony oligarchy is the most important thing going on.
Brett Kavanaugh will protect Donald Trump and his Republican cohorts from any further investigations, from culpability in any crimes, from liability in any civil actions, and even from New York State actions.
If that's not enough, the 5-4 Supreme Court has a full agenda to take away each and all of the protections for people that came in the past 80 years or so. America will go back to the 19th Century where people were under the near total control of wealthy business people. That's the long term plan.
Everyone in this sub thinks they are so woke and that they saved the USA from Hillary when the United States is about to lose everything that makes it special in front of their eyes. Most people here are cheering it on!
Unfortunately you have people in power that think the ability to pillage the country, be invincible against the law, and take away all the rights we were given over the past century makes us special and a majority of people on /r/conspiracy seem to be all about this for some reason.
Yeah you’re right. We’re on the verge of normalizing guilty verdicts with no evidence. People have no goddamned clue what the implications of this are. It’s as if this process itself is a supreme court decision.
Brett Kavanaugh will protect Donald Trump and his Republican cohorts from any further investigations, from culpability in any crimes, from liability in any civil actions,
Please explain how this works, because I don't think you understand the function of the supreme court.
Also, the guy blamed his assault accusations on being a Democrat conspiracy somehow related to the sp00ky Clintons, he’s pretty clearly as partisan as they come
So do you believe the supreme court indicts people?
Democrats openly said they would try to stop Kavanaugh's appointment at all costs. I would think if your whole lif3e was attacked by petty political tactics you would clearly be upset with the party behind the attacks. If anything the actions and words of the petty democrats have MADE him partisan.
but why do you think they’re stopping his appointment? Because he’s right leaning or because of his: sketchy baseball ticket debt situation possibly being linked to some sort of payoff, multiple sexual assault claims which he strongly denies (but doesn’t want an investigation that would hypothetically clear his name about, or his best friend who could hypothetically clear him to testify on), his history of perjuring himself in front of congress in 2004, etc.
If it was just cause he’s conservative how did Gorsuch escape this?
And honestly the “yeah he’s biased but it’s justified” argument is silly because we shouldn’t have someone on the highest court of office with demonstrable political biases. Different interpretations of the law is one thing but being so blatantly partisan isn’t okay, the SC is supposed to be apolitical
but doesn’t want an investigation that would hypothetically clear his name about,
I watch the whole hearing. I know this is a false statement that was the main talking point of the Dems. Just step down from the nomination so you can clear your name. I saw it as a threat/coercion. If you don't step down we will continue this attack on you.
Different interpretations of the law is one thing but being so blatantly partisan isn’t okay,
If he had said nothing against the party that had orchestrated these attacks, protests, made threats to his family, called him evil, brought false accusers at the 11th hour, said they would do anything to stop him....
If he had said nothing about this I would have lost all respect for him. Doing so would have shown he would submit to political pressure while on the bench.
If it was just cause he’s conservative how did Gorsuch escape this?
This is and will be ignored by every since "conservative". I asked someone on FB about this very thing, and their reply was that the liberals couldn't think of anything to do in time for his confirmation. Ok then....
If anything the actions and words of the petty democrats have MADE him partisan.
So then he is not a reasoned, level-headed thinker? Otherwise even petty personal attacks wouldn't compromise his internal arguments for or against particular positions.
On December 8, 2017, a 5-4 perfectly partisan Supreme Court majority issued an unsigned and unexplained Order permitting the Donald Trump Administration to withhold official government documents from a court case that would normally be required. The 4 dissenters warned that, "judicial review cannot function if the agency is permitted to decide unilaterally what documents it submits." So, the Supreme Court already protected Donald Trump. Brett Kavanaugh has made it clear that he would protect the White House, so these kinds of unprecedented 5-4 opinions should be expected -- for example, a ruling permitting Donald Trump to end the Robert Mueller investigation and other things like that, and even to destroy documents as happened in the Wisconsin John Doe case.
In 2010, a 5-4 perfectly partisan Supreme Court majority issued a notorious ruling called Citizens United that overturned one hundred years of campaign funding regulations on the novel theory that corporations have an unlimited right to use undisclosed amounts of money as First Amendment "free" speech, then extended that case to billionaires. A ruling to extend this "freedom" to spend unlimited undisclosed money on campaigns could easily be extended "protect Donald Trump and his Republican cohorts from any further investigations" and culpability on things including the Stormy Daniels payment and the misuse of funds in the Trump Foundation that New York State is investigating.
Bonus: Currently, there is a case pending at the Supreme Court to consider overturning a rule so that New York State could literally be disallowed from investigating Donald Trump and his cohorts. The case is called Gamble v. United States. It's almost like this case was sent to the Supreme Court a few weeks before Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement so that Republicans could get someone in who would be sure to protect Donald Trump. Enter Brett Kavanaugh, the life-long partisan operative who once "believed" while he was hunting Bill Clinton and writing up explicit sexual questions but now "believes" that, basically, the president is above the law.
Exactly, Think of upcoming legislation that they will control. Net neutrality, copyright law, patent law, cloning and biological research, criper, open and free internet, banking regulation, etc.
already happening. I never liked Alex Jones, but he's had his speech taken away, as well as ability to receive a form of payment. We truly will be ruled by google, fb, twitter, amazon, etc. Is this what you down-voting shills want? America deserves to be fleeced, as americans are so dumb they will not read about the taboo subjects. Stupid goyim.
A Presidential nomination for the a lifetime appointment in the highest court of the United States testified before the Senate regarding his past history of binge drinking and sexual assault...is that not a pretty big news story?
Lying during a Supreme Court should should be automatic grounds for withdrawal no matter who is appointed or doing the appointing - republican or democrat.
I can't say I've ever engaged in any of the behavior that Kav has been accused of. Nor would I ever consider doing so.
But you can be accused by someone you've never met. It doesn't matter how innocent you are; you're still the subject of unsubstantiated allegations, and you may never escape the allegations, even if your innocence is "proven."
I could be. I work in a field where the most common reason for lawsuits is sexual impropriety. And the reality is that perception is more important than reality. I'm aware of that.
I mean, both of his college roommates have come as saying he was a heavy drinker who went beyond what was considered acceptable at the time. Both have said they believe the accusers' accounts. Kit Winter James Roche
Note: The Kit Winter piece is a much longer piece and is more about what living with him was like than the James Roche piece, which is a report on his official statement.
The media is owned and controlled by the Democrats.
Under a Democrat president you would be right that when the media talks about something it's covering up for something corrupt
Because they're covering up for the Democrat president
But under a Republican president the same rule doesn't apply. When the media is talking about something non-stop it's an attempt to attack the Republican president. Not cover for him
i don't know..some how i got feeling postponed meeting with president got to do with Kavanaugh, once Kavanaugh get in he gonna do something to Rosenstein.
Lifetime is a bit of a misnomer. They can theoretically be impeached. But ya, this is still a big deal.
The underlying truth though is that if we are to believe the story, the actions of a drunk 17 year old reflect the character of who this man currently is. I for one am more concerned about him being just another ultra conservative shill who is compromised by the GOP.
To claim that this past incident is the reason he should not be confirmed, and belief in any victim = truth, is the height of this neo liberal madness going on. Hopefully the investigation can uncover some facts, and I hope he's not confirmed because he is fuel for the partisan divide which is being pushed.
this noise is all about getting him in imho.
normal people are sick to death of this bullshit, there is an insanely loud minority screaming about it.
people honestly just want to do the opposite of the screaming mob and so this will the focus of the hearings, nothing of actual importance of course, which is why we are focusing on 30 years ago and not say the last 10.
make noise about the far past, and no one will look at the recent past.
the divide is being abused as easy cover for their cooperation. there is not republican vs. democrat war at least not in the real seats of power, politics is theatre!
this is all about keeping us focused on which "side" we are on and virtue signalling or screaming hate at the other instead of paying attention to what they are ALL doing as a group.
Based on what? And even if that is a body double (which is an outlandish claim), that doesn't mean Clinton has been detained. Back up your assertions with sources or you don't have any standing here.
Honestly, I feel like this is the most obvious brainwashing attempt in history. The amount of coverage this got yesterday... I scrolled through hundreds of social media feeds and EVERY SINGLE POST was about this and most of them had a picture of the Dr. looking like an angel figure, eyes closed, hands raised, some kind of odd symbolism. To be fair, I have no idea what any of this is about. I don't live in the US and it's actually disturbing and gross to me, to festishize this the way it has been.
I'm sure it's just as simple as, she's the new Hillary and will be running for the Democrats. But maybe it's far more sinister and scary. I can't escape this. I'm actively trying to avoid news of it or to participate in the weird, voyeuristic and perverted ways people are drooling over every tiny description of sexual assault. Why are people so desperate to hear every detail about this? Why are we so fascinated by this? We wonder why rampant sexual abuse is going on in every society, but no wonder... we're basically turning sexual assault into a circus.
We're screwed.
It's starting to disgust me. This is not news. This is not worth the level of attention it's gotten.
I'm saying, why do we need to focus on every detail of the supposed sexual assault?? On public television and blasted on every website? Over and over and over until it's burned into our brains? I understand the importance. The entire US system is messed up, compared to what else the US is currently doing around the world right now... this is the equivalent of a soap opera.
I believe her, even though I barely know the accusations. I admire what she's doing and think what she is doing is amazing. Does that mean I have to worship her as a god-like figure and have thousands (if not millions) of the rich and famous putting her on this pedestal and shoving every detail down our throat 24/7? No.
I'm getting a little worked up here but from the outside, it's just so frustrating. The rest of the world isn't much better but this has become entertainment. You can claim it's oh so important because SUPREME COURT NOMINEE but it's only a title. A title that has no meaning except in these politicians' own heads. They've convinced us that sh*t like this matters more than the absolutely horrific things these people are doing behind our back.
It's all a show. And I'd love to know how this particular situation will ever justify the amount of coverage it's gotten. There are far more things going on in the world that I'd like to know about and this feels like an obvious attempt to distract us from those important things. That's all I'm saying.
Totally get that frustration and fetishization feeling from the whole media circus around this. Neither republicans or democrats are doing themselves any favours - both have got their own agendas they want to push.
However, I will refute the idea that the alleged victim is trying to get into politics in any way, shape or form. How the msm want to portray her or use her/the hearings for their own ends is an entirely different point of course, but this woman wants no part in national politics.
i think some people, not you, dont see the overall picture. for weeks we kept hearing "roe v wade" and pro-choice arguments - this riles up many of the left protesters. When they couldnt stop the vote using protests, they used Ford - almost like a last resort. Kavanaugh, according to most people on both political sides, was a "fair" choice. The institutions with the REAL problem are the abortion clinics. Having a devout Christian appointed would not bode well for business. You can google what Kamala Harris did in CA for Planned Parenthood when doctors got caught on tape selling fetus material- she was basically paid to get rid of evidence and protect them in the future. She became a senator for just this purpose, to have more influence. If Supreme court rules to abolish sale of unborn babies, clinics/hospitals will lose billions.
When they couldnt stop the vote using protests, they used Ford - almost like a last resort.
Yeah I see that. And I appreciate that there was certainly some kind of fuckery going on behind the scenes when Ford first brought this up months ago and wanted it all sorted it out well before any confirmation hearings, and it was kept back to use as ammo in the public sphere.
I hadn't heard about this Planned Parenthood tissue-selling debacle, I've had a cursory look at the wikipedia page about it, and to me it's another example of cloak and dagger work from both sides in terms of wanting to push agendas. I couldn't find any source for your claim that Kamala was paid to get rid of evidence and to protect PP in the future, so I'd be grateful if you could send me a couple.
As to your last point and whether that would be positive or not, I guess it all depends on your personal viewpoint on conception/contraception/reproductive rights.
I think a lot of people are underestimating how import this is.
Presidents come and go. Democrats and Republicans pass power back and forth.
But a supreme court Judge will stay on for 30-40 years. It doesn't matter who's in power if new laws and legislation can't be passed through the courts.
Think of upcoming legislation that they will control. Net neutrality, copyright law, patent law, cloning and biological research, criper, open and free internet, banking regulation, etc.
I think the GOP know they're not going to fair well in the next few elections so they're stacking the courts while they can. It doesn't matter in the Dems control the white house the real LASTING power is the courts.
Exactly. So the GOP is putting a person in the courts who's going to defend the Constitution and America just in case Congress cant
I'm not sure what made you think that Republican president and Congress was going to nominate a liberal judge?
I'm thankful we have a judge who isn't going to try to legislate from the bench and take away the Second Amendment and unconstitutional things that the Democrats put
If you think one side is the "good guys" and one side is the "bad guys" you haven't been paying attention. But by all means continue to root for "your team"
oh yeah it's both sides. Until the Democrats do something good 0r Republicans do something bad then you're all about how you need to vote Democrat and "blue wave"
I think you missed the point he was making. We have a lot of people in this subreddit who speak out of both sides of their mouth. On one side, they explain that both sides are the same and there are no good guys. On the other side, they inevitably reach the conclusion that the Democrats are clearly not as bad as the Republicans.
Except privacy rights (roe v wade); allowing corps to be people; blocking open internet; and the further weakening of labor unions.
If you think the GOP cares about anything other than business interests then you have deluded yourself. Not to say the Dems always fight for the little guy but they at least throw us a bone.
I'm against both Zionists and communists. Both are part of the same parasitic group which is fighting over the spoils that America has to offer. The stupid goyim deserve to be fleeced, the golden calf milked.
What is your opinion on Kavanaugh's belief that American citizens who have been illegally detained without trial should not be allowed to sue the government?
Is that more or less important than the second amendment in your opinion?
I think we're getting close to our Dredd Scott Decision moment. That decision set the precedent for the legal status of blacks in the United States. It was not until the constitution was amended that it changed. It took a civil war to get there though. The issue then was the country found itself in an uncompromisable position. Anyone who says the war was about State Rights is cherry picking their history. The whig party thought you could compromise on slavery to gain the rest of their agenda. The Republican Party was born when the Whigs divided on the issue. When the Republicans won their first election with Lincoln, half the country took it as a sign that their way of life (which depended on Slavery... The issue that divided the Whigs) was about to forever be changed. An uncompromisable position led to a separation of the union, and I'm sure you know the rest.
I believe Our country is divided in kind of a similar way. I think the issue this time is socialism, and I think the democratic party is the whig party being divided. It is a fundamental change. With the new makeup of the supreme court the changes that these "Democratic Socialists" are pushing will inevitablly fail. They're going to have to do drastic things like packing the court. History doesn't repeat, but I keep asking myself. Where we go from here in the current state? The answer to me is definitely states splitting apart along the lines of blue vs red. It can happen peacefully, but it might also not be peaceful.
Forgive me if I’m missing something in history or if I don’t know enough regarding this issue.
I don’t see this divide, one that’s been so driven by this wedge of ideas over the years, being fixed without an interaction that the people who live in this modern day and age are prepared for. I see hard times to come, and not just because of the events of the last couple years, but because of the buildup that has lead to this point.
We as a people are so divided amongst party lines that the common sense arguments existing just several years prior for many moderates having views that crossed party boundaries seemingly no longer exist. I’d bet that they exist only if you were to sit down and one on one many people. Never as a population.
Saying it was about slavery is just as oversimplified as saying itwas about states rights. It was a miriad of issues with slavery being the major one and the catalyst but it was a long time coming. Most states had that as a reason in their articles of cessation.
Not do well in the next few elections?
Really? Democrats are running on Impeach Trump because of pretty clear NON existent Russian collusion.
With the economy doing well, jobs coming back, and dems digging their hole deeper now by recruiting more pissed off Reps to vote.
I don‘t think the GOP lose either House and Senate, thanks in large part to dems, antifa, etc.
How exactly you propose whar you do....
Trump and Bush won by literally the slimmest margins possible. Republicans will likely be competitive in Congress but the Presidency is a huge challenge lately.
Is there a good example of recent legislature that gave people greater freedom? As I recall they just renewed Patriot Act as The Freedom Act and Trump himself signed the FISA renewal..
Individual freedoms like a woman’s right to choose that they hate so much? Or individual freedoms like marrying who you want which they also despise? Don’t fall for their rhetoric - it’s never been about actual individual freedoms. It’s always been about controlling people they don’t like while gaining more power for themselves.
Tommy Robinson's case, for one. Distracting from a man arrested for covering a muslim grooming gang by focusing on a gang rape allegation which is denied by all alleged witnesses. Poundmetoo.
I’m not sure what you’re getting at regarding the upcoming extermination of all life on earth due to global corporate capitalism but don’t you think bringing the percentage of the world living in absolute poverty down to below 10% is a success?
Don’t you think the incredible luxuries that even the poor in America live with (Air conditioning, cars, televisions, cell phones) is a success of global corporate capitalism?
Don’t you think the innovations that the competitive market encourages are a success of global capitalism? (Innovations in medicine, technology, aviation, countless others)
Don’t you think about the fact that the only reason you’re able to connect with millions of minds on a platform like reddit and complain about capitalism is only possible because of... capitalism?
By definition progress is not infinitely sustainable. It will keep getting "better and better" until we run out of resources, and then it will get worse and worse.
Don't know about global, but it has definitely failed in the US. The middle class is dissolving into a small upper class that owns as much as the rest combined. Due to the courts decision to treat corporations as people, it is not likely to change unless they go back on that decision... So yes, the US Supreme Court is a major news choice.
Probably the whipping of members of un to allow Syria invasion.
Syria has taken years off their plan. Anyone talking Iran is clueless to the fact they need at least 3-4 years of total control in Syria.
Ultimately the Russian and Chinese members will veto any resolution at the security council so they are probably working on a go around. Isis failed, chemical attacks failed, and evil regime propaganda failed.
My guess is they are at a complete standstill as Russia has drawn the line in Syria. Ultimately ground wars are almost impossible to win, and that's against a small group of citizens with small arms. If they put troops on the ground in Syria would be the beginning of the hot war of WW3. We're looking at NATO vs Russian, Syria, and Iran for sure. Will china side with NATO or RSI? That's probably what they are trying to figure out. If China supports NATO I could see Russia succumbing to the pressure and allowing Syria to fall to the NATO/IMF alliance.
The true question here to me has always been is Russia just playing their role in the global charade or is this a legitimate rebellion against IMF(think of NATO as the IMFs mercenary army)??
That said the Supreme Court is ultimately where the battle for America will be won or lost. As soon as they get the majority of the SC anti-2a it's all over. The entire globe will fall into complete tyranny once the us constitution is legally done away with. It's already covertly subverted but they need to bring it to the open to allow evidence gathered thru this illegal mass surveillance grid to be admissible in the court of law.
Basically they need to win the war by taking away constitutional rights. They can't take them away but they are working to convince us to forsake them for the "greater good".
They’re setting up lifetime majorities of people who will support citizens united, shield the president, and control your bodies at all costs but you’re worried about a potential anti-2a majority? we’re already fucked and we’re becoming more fucked because of take-err-guns hysteria. They do not care about you, your freedom is already gone, and some poor folks shooting each other only helps in the long run
Spot on. It's crazy to see turkey Greece Saudi Israel Iraq India all speaking in a way that they don't want anything to spill into their countries. They are also talking about the cost of us wars on surrounding cou tries. Russia is using it as political leverage as the US can't act through Israel or Saudi for Syria. They want Irans old guard to be crushed so they can put debt captains in charge to rob the people blind. With China looking to secure trade and influence, Russia and the Middle East are talking to Russia and China in a way I've never seen. I honestly feel like they are weighing if they can all out attack Iran while using Syria as a new reconstruction debt state. The Supreme Court case is huge In all this but Kavanaugh will be voted in and the multinational teiring for. Global control will be done. The sovereignty of humans will wash. America will lose power and influence as the global shift happens. This will lead to a future war when one group feels they can finally hit the US and take over the Fed.
> What is happening in the world today that they are trying to keep our attention off of?
Probably nothing. They're pretty fixated on delaying any further confirmation hearings past the election.
What I take away from all this is that for having a penis, you are forever on the defensive against allegations of sexual assault. The long-term ramifications of this are a complete and total regression of women's rights.
The new false flag to get us to wipe Iran off the map and doubling down on Syria/Russia (suicide), not to mention genocide in Yemen. We're up to our necks in blood and the only people in the world who don't know it are the American public.
Well, the other half of the world is being devastated by wild weather. Thunder storms in Saudi Arabia, tornados in Mexico, earthquake/tsunami in Indonesia. Lotta stuff going on, just have to remove yourself from MSM.
Trumps blunders at the UN. Literally Saudi Israel Trump admins trying to get the UN members to want war with Iran while Iran's president is in an all out defense to stop it.
--- Because in the legal profession, attorneys (and certainly judges) don't work in "dares". This isn't the 3rd grade.
--- The only timing you have happening here is repubs trying to speed things up and dems trying to slow them down. Cosby has been scheduled for sentencing for a while, but it does point to the "time we live in."
--- Kavanaugh explained why he kept detailed journals and it's legitimate - it was important testimony in his defense
--- Feinstein is super old, but so is Grassley. I'm not sure how people of their age sit for so long at these hearings.
--- Booker's eyes were as wide as they could go, he and other former prosecutors pulled out every play they had
A president's legacy can be defined by justices he appoints to the court. This is a monumental event and the fact that Trump has the opportunity to place two on the court in his first term is monumental both for his presidency, and for the conservative movement. The 2016 election will be looked back upon as one of the most important events in our nation's history. It was an inflection point upon which the next 100 years of our nation will be defined.
You think the majority of America will watch news about Iran over the supreme Court nominee on hearing? Me neither. It's all about ratings, that's the conspiracy.
Consumers watch what they want on tv, knowing that, TV stations show what they think the most people want. The hearing is what people wanted, clearly. It got a shit ton of views. Every news station had the hearing on.
You know what happens if CBS shows news around the world at the same time everybody else is showing the hearing? People turn CBS off, and abc/nbc/fox/CNN whatever, on. It's really that simple
I mean, you could be right. Nobody will ever know for sure, but with how stupid most Americans are these days, it really seems like people only cared about one thing yesterday. I know I watched the whole thing (but I'm also hurt and can't go to work ATM)
Personally I believe there is some element of truth to the claims. If the democrats were willing to stoop as low as making all this up then why didn’t they do it with gorsich? He was nominated pretty quickly and without much drama, that inclines me to believe that there’s something to the allegations in this case.
They're covering up that Kavanaugh was a key player and architect within the GW Bush administration for authorizing both torture and warrantless wiretapping.
Also, I believe the original goal was to have Michael Jackson foment race wars, but he refused to go along with it. So that's why a big media company had to buy out MTV, deep-six the great decade of 80s music, and replace it with gangsta rap, culminating in the 1992 Rodney King riots.
Michael Jackson, in contrast, was trying to promote racial harmony with his 1991 "Black or White" song.
Viacom bought MTV in 1985. I call August 6, 1988 the day the music died, as that is when Yo! MTV Raps debuted.
How many pop songs did you like from last year? Three, four? On New Year's Eve 1985, MTV aired their Top 100. Every single song was outstanding and even any youth today would recognize a dozen of them. Viacom actively killed this culture.
I go back and forth on whether Michael Jackson abused children. I believe he was innocent of at least the second (2005) lawsuit because his attitude that time was of "you've got nothing on me this time". After his death, his limo drivers came out in his defense saying, "Oh, he was a man alright, he would get frisky with the women in the back".
But with his children with Lisa Marie Presley obviously adopted, one has to wonder whether he was castrated as a child, despite her pubic defense of Michael's bedroom performance.
Note the timing of the first (1993) lawsuit. It's like the labels' revenge going for him going rogue on him with his peaceful Black or White. See the videos late in his life where he divulges the evil power of the labels, asking that his statements not be recorded. But can it be said he never, ever abused? That's a long shot, if he was abused himself as a child. But it's still within the realm of possibility, given how strong his will was to distance himself from his own childhood.
When he started getting vitiligo, he started using lots of skin makeup to cover it up, as do most black celebrities with it. But instead of covering up the light patches of skin, he covered up the dark patches. That plus the frequent plastic surgeries it is said were to make himself not resemble his father.
Putin’s involvement with the terrorist behind the nerve agent attack in London was just revealed and there was a tsunami in Indonesia are the only relevant news I haven’t seen really shown much
The irony that Kavanaugh was involved in drafting the Starr Report which was the whole Bill Clinton sex scandal thing is an interesting coincidence too. Poetic justice? Or something else?
The Fed just ended a decade of accommodative monetary policy and is set to continue tightening until the next recession hits. They are reducing the balance sheet through Quantitative Tightening at a rate of 50 billion monthly. The average person has no idea of how bad the risks are of another major crash hitting global markets. The global debt to GDP is over 300%. Trading on margin is at extreme levels. Markets are overvalued by most standard measures. The Bank of International Settlements has warned about risks to markets as liquidity is removed from the financial system. And these are just a few examples....
It'll set a new precedent. When a judge of the opposite party is a potential pick have someone scream "MUH RAAAAAAPE!" To stall the selection and impact the midterm elections.
This is a friendly reminder that Supreme Court justices can be impeached. Do not for a second believe that a justice receives a lifetime appointment without fail-safes, even though you've been told this is the case. It's hard as hell to get that impeachment, but it's possible so long as people know the law and keep their representatives in check.
For one the fact that Kavanaugh is anti-constitution. Keeping the emphasis on this case completely hides the real depth of how bad this guy really is at protecting constitutional rights.
I can't say I've ever engaged in any of the behavior that Kav has been accused of. Nor would I ever consider doing so.

Whatever is going on in Syria, the death of the Russian Collusion stuff and the usual issues that are rarely covered.

Please explain how this works, because I don't think you understand the function of the supreme court.
1 bepositivelikeblood 2018-09-28
this is a good analysis of why so many people believe Kavanaugh thinks a sitting President can’t be indicted
Also, the guy blamed his assault accusations on being a Democrat conspiracy somehow related to the sp00ky Clintons, he’s pretty clearly as partisan as they come
1 yellowsnow2 2018-09-28
So do you believe the supreme court indicts people?
Democrats openly said they would try to stop Kavanaugh's appointment at all costs. I would think if your whole lif3e was attacked by petty political tactics you would clearly be upset with the party behind the attacks. If anything the actions and words of the petty democrats have MADE him partisan.
1 bepositivelikeblood 2018-09-28
but why do you think they’re stopping his appointment?
1 yellowsnow2 2018-09-28
I watch the whole hearing. I know this is a false statement that was the main talking point of the Dems. Just step down from the nomination so you can clear your name. I saw it as a threat/coercion. If you don't step down we will continue this attack on you.
1 ansultares 2018-09-28

1 whacko_jacko 2018-09-28
I don't know why you think that would be considered far-fetched in this subreddit.
1 JusticeMerickGarland 2018-09-28
1 brazilliandanny 2018-09-28

Under a Democrat president you would be right that when the media talks about something it's covering up for something corrupt
Because they're covering up for the Democrat president
But under a Republican president the same rule doesn't apply. When the media is talking about something non-stop it's an attempt to attack the Republican president. Not cover for him

1 Nogrim6 2018-09-28
this noise is all about getting him in imho. normal people are sick to death of this bullshit, there is an insanely loud minority screaming about it.
people honestly just want to do the opposite of the screaming mob and so this will the focus of the hearings, nothing of actual importance of course, which is why we are focusing on 30 years ago and not say the last 10.
make noise about the far past, and no one will look at the recent past.
the divide is being abused as easy cover for their cooperation. there is not republican vs. democrat war at least not in the real seats of power, politics is theatre!

That was the same exact question I posed to my friend yesterday! Glad to see others out there are thinking the same way.
1 IAmLindsayLohan 2018-09-28
1 brazilliandanny 2018-09-28
Dude if you don't think a supreme court nominee is "news worthy" you don't understand how the courts are used to define every aspect of our lives.

1 Naluthar 2018-09-28
Don't give them so much of your power. They do not, nor do they have, the power to define every aspect of your life.
1 Oprahs_snatch 2018-09-28
Yes. They do.
1 IAmLindsayLohan 2018-09-28
1 Drake02 2018-09-28
It's newsworthy, but there hasn't been a single MSM story going into Kavanaugh's actual record of service.
In fact, facts aren't discussed in this case on Fox, CNN, or KSNBC. They literally cited the emotional appeal as what swayed them last night.
I'm sick to my stomach at the reality show my country has become.
1 Naluthar 2018-09-28
Thank you. I had to scroll pretty far on this one to get to a response from someone not on CNN's payroll.
1 PerchPerkins 2018-09-28
Totally get that frustration and fetishization feeling from the whole media circus around this. Neither republicans or democrats are doing themselves any favours - both have got their own agendas they want to push.
However, I will refute the idea that the alleged victim is trying to get into politics in any way, shape or form. How the msm want to portray her or use her/the hearings for their own ends is an entirely different point of course, but this woman wants no part in national politics.
1 ok2uselogic 2018-09-28
i think some people, not you, dont see the overall picture. for weeks we kept hearing "roe v wade" and pro-choice arguments - this riles up many of the left protesters.
1 PerchPerkins 2018-09-28

1 EnvironmentalMarket9 2018-09-28
Exactly. So the GOP is putting a person in the courts who's going to defend the Constitution and America just in case Congress cant

1 Cadmusian 2018-09-28
In short: I agree.
I don’t know...
1 Filibuster-Proof 2018-09-28
Saying it was about slavery is just as oversimplified as saying itwas about states rights. It was a miriad of issues with slavery being the major one and the catalyst but it was a long time coming. Most states had that as a reason in their articles of cessation.

Individual freedoms like a woman’s right to choose that they hate so much? Or individual freedoms like marrying who you want which they also despise?
1 FauxMoGuy 2018-09-28

This will lead to a future war when one group feels they can finally hit the US and take over the Fed.

damn ... I was just thinking about this. Was also thinking :
--- If Maryland has no statute of limitations, then why didn't Kavanaugh dare Ford to have him arrested?
--- What is the coincidence of Cosby getting convicted the day before? Is it coincidence or timing?
--- Really. Who the hell keeps paper calendars from stuff they did in the 1980's?
--- Why did Diane Feinstein age about 20 years this summer? Does she have a calendar we can look at ?
--- Why are Cory Booker's eyes about 3 times larger coming in to the vote ?
1 hypermoderns 2018-09-28
--- Because in the legal profession, attorneys (and certainly judges) don't work in "dares". This isn't the 3rd grade. --- The only timing you have happening here is repubs trying to speed things up and dems trying to slow them down. Cosby has been scheduled for sentencing for a while, but it does point to the "time we live in." --- Kavanaugh explained why he kept detailed journals and it's legitimate - it was important testimony in his defense --- Feinstein is super old, but so is Grassley.

The Kavanaugh coverage is to deafen the sounds of the war drums currently beating for Iran.
1 Matt2phat 2018-09-28
The Kavanaugh coverage is because hes a nominee for the supreme court, a role he will hold for 30-40 years.
1 bluemagic124 2018-09-28
It’s definitely a little of both. The Kavanaugh story is unquestionably newsworthy, but so is the Iran situation.
1 Matt2phat 2018-09-28
You think the majority of America will watch news about Iran over the supreme Court nominee on hearing? Me neither. It's all about ratings, that's the conspiracy.
1 bluemagic124 2018-09-28
That's part of it.
1 Matt2phat 2018-09-28
That's all of it. It's simple, TV stations show what people want, or they die out. Simple capitalism
1 bluemagic124 2018-09-28
To assert that ratings are the sole determining factor in what content gets broadcasted on TV is a pretty dubious simplification.
1 Matt2phat 2018-09-28
Nothing everything in life is complicated.
1 bluemagic124 2018-09-28
meh, if you say so
1 Matt2phat 2018-09-28

1 camerontbelt 2018-09-28
Personally I believe there is some element of truth to the claims. If the democrats were willing to stoop as low as making all this up then why didn’t they do it with gorsich? They're covering up that Kavanaugh was a key player and architect within the GW Bush administration for authorizing both torture and warrantless wiretapping.
1 c2ny 2018-09-28
Source please? Would like to read more into this
1 michaelmalak 2018-09-28
Not a reliable source, so you'll have to do your own digging: https://www.henrymakow.com/was_michael_jackson_another_il.html
1 c2ny 2018-09-28
Uhhhh. What does this have to do with torture and warrantless wiretapping?

The Fed just ended a decade of accommodative monetary policy and is set to continue tightening until the next recession hits. They are reducing the balance sheet through Quantitative Tightening at a rate of 50 billion monthly. The average person has no idea of how bad the risks are of another major crash hitting global markets. The global debt to GDP is over 300%. Trading on margin is at extreme levels. Markets are overvalued by most standard measures. The Bank of International Settlements has warned about risks to markets as liquidity is removed from the financial system. And these are just a few examples....
