Mythbusters pretty much put this bullshit to rest.
11 Slipgrid 2011-02-01
Yeah, because there's no one more qualified for the job of bullshit than two special effects professionals.
7 farnsworthfan 2011-02-01
Actually, being special effects artists, they are the perfect two guys to judge whether the landings were faked, since "movie magic" would have been used to fake the landings.
1 vfxsneaks 2011-02-01
These guys did pyrotechnics and robots, not anything to do with Visual Effects or filmmaking. (not to discredit what they do-- I just don't think they're the best fit for visual debunking)
2 farnsworthfan 2011-02-01
Good point, I didn't think of it that way.

How Stanley Kubrick Faked the Apollo Moon Landings
tldr; front screen projection pic
8 thexhatchet 2011-02-01
i laughed when i read that.. completely wrong on alot of stuff though. typical case of people trying to bend facts to match their crazy theories.
2 polymath22 2011-02-01
look closely at this pic
look at the sky. see the "grain"?
notice that the sky has a 6-pack?
that is 6 screens sewn together into one bigger screen.
look where the "moon" (stage) meets the screen. that is supposed to be the horizon.
i used to love star trek, and the cheesy sets never really caught my attention,
but if you watch an old star trek today, the cheesy sets jump right out at you.
this moon pic is a cheesy movie set.
3 thexhatchet 2011-02-01
heres the breakdown:
i dont know for sure if we went to the moon or not. the proof isnt there either way
but more importantly that picture proves nothing. you dont know where exactly it was taken, if it was on a ridge it would produce the same effect. the fact that you think that kubrick used front projection with no background in film or any visual field makes it impossible for you to properly diagose this. from a person that has worked in both the film and graphic design, im just telling you thats not how things were done on there.
3 V1ruk 2011-02-01
Do you understand how they sew images together? For large detailed pictures? Looks to me like 28 seperate images sewn together to make 1 big picture of the moon which has since been downgraded into complete crap.
GO AWAY!

LRRR experiments, multiple third party trackers, moon rocks, and the fact the USSR didn't challenge any of our claims = we landed on the moon as many times as we said we did.
7 Redpaw360 2011-02-01

And?
The weak link in the story is the former ambassador who gave the PM the "rock" but can't recall the details of how he acquired it from the State Department. Everything after that point is based off the assumption that the wood was a rock.
0 [deleted] 2011-02-01
[deleted]
0 [deleted] 2011-02-01
How does this one incident show that? You can't satisfactorily say that the ambassador knew or didn't know the real provenance of the petrified wood when he gifted to the PM. Also, the chain of custody goes back only as far as the State Department, not NASA itself. There's no evidence to suggest whether the State Department knew the provenance of the rock from wherever it came. After all, it didn't have to come from NASA itself because their only documented role was during the vetting when they said it may have been a moon rock over the phone.
The reasoning that this story is reliable evidence that NASA could have faked the moon landings would not stand up in court.

This is a totally irrelevant detail. A rock with dubious provenance is mistaken for moon rock by a civil servant? Wow, call a press conference.

How could the entire Orion project be continuing if the predecessor Apollo and Gemini were faked?
Everything that is being put into both Ares rockets (the superlarge cargo rocket/the smaller crew rocket) and their lander technology, crew technology is based on being there. Everything we've learned about geology and formation of our solar system, everything we've experienced. How can you account for evolution of technology and understanding if the whole thing was a fake? Fake evolution of learning?
We'd be spending billions on a suicide mission of unproven technology to perform a feat never attempted.
Which of course is ridiculous. So is the notion that literally tens if not hundreds of thousands of people world wide have been involved since the first manned rocket was sent into orbit and not one of those people are having second thoughts about being involved in the largest scam in humankind history?!
Seriously, this theory was shot when the first photos of the astronauts tracks were spotted and sent home.
I read these posts and there's one guy talking about some well spoken articulate, (from the posts it appears these are new qualities of con men never before discovered), author claiming false landing with a close up photo of a lander made with cardboard/air ducts.
Why would someone taking the time and serious expense to pull off a master level plan to dupe the world into a moon landing (motive still horribly unclear)....and then make the key piece out of cardboard and airducts?
There isn't any logic to this conspiracy in anyway and I'm still astounded at the amount of seemingly intelligent people (they can type after all) who keep feeding this lunacy.

1 solstice680 2011-02-01
Most of the torrents are no longer available, and the one that I was able to get didn't have any peers. Any chance these files can be shared again?
0 Volopok 2011-02-01
I'm pretty sure the the moon landing was real, they just censored a lot of it so that it wouldn't cause a panic. (see original footage in which a ufo can be veiwed). There are still videos of ufos coming out from the space station. Unfortunately all of the good footage gets deleted from youtube so that people like me get to look like nuts.
3 V1ruk 2011-02-01
Good ufo videos on youtube? They just don't exist, it's usually people amazed by their new night vision camera, and how bright lights look in it. That can't be a plane, it's too bright! It has to be a ufo, said the man with no knowledge of golfball effect.
Also, we almost have the ability to not be seen, you think aliens would be ignorant to some basic technology a new species cooked up in a century?
3 oD323 2011-02-01
NASA FOOTAGE
(ignore the obnoxious music)
that is not space debris, and that is not any form of water particle.
They move independently, and intelligently.
These are advanced craft.
2 Zhire 2011-02-01
Some of these look like sperm. Just saying'. Also, that black triangle, think it could be one of our high-altitude spy-plane/jets? That's what it looks like to me.
1 oD323 2011-02-01
yeah, anything triangle at that altitude would most likely be US Stealth craft. Possibly some black budget work if it's sub-orbital.
-2 VitalianBeef 2011-02-01
They look more like something you would find in the deep ocean. Perhaps there are space traveling organisms.
-1 Zhire 2011-02-01
That's an interesting way to look at it.
0 V1ruk 2011-02-01
Yes your grainy footage from my freespace 2 hud is completely convincing, aliens have definitely visited us, to show us their impression of 2 lightbulbs attached with a string.
Actually, I agree with Vitalianbeef that they look like organisms, specifically microbes that you can see at home with a microscope. They look like that, behave like that, and probably are just that imposed over a starry background.
See I would love to start the hunt for UFO's, but even on the off chance a video is on youtube (which they would be, tons of them if they did exist in their claimed state) well in the off chance they ARE there, you first have to find them, and that's like searching for a needle in a haystack... except the hay is bullshit, and the pile is infinite, and ever changing, so you get new types of shit.
2 [deleted] 2011-02-01
People like you don't need help looking like nuts... You do an excellent job of it all by yourself.
-1 crackduck 2011-02-01
Cute how you complain about content-free ad hominem replies.
-4 cartel 2011-02-01
Even if all the good videos are deleted from youtube, they should be on bittorrent somewhere?
Buzz Aldrin has said that there is definately a cover up going on concerning the UFOs they saw.
4 [deleted] 2011-02-01
No. Buzz Aldrin said there was an "unidentified flying object," which they later confirmed was part of their spaceship.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzz_Aldrin#UFO_claims
Or is that what they want you to believe?
-2 crackduck 2011-02-01
They have never confirmed that. The language used was "99.9 percent sure". No need to lie about it.
3 Facehammer 2011-02-01
99.9 percent means confirmed beyond all reasonable doubt.
-2 crackduck 2011-02-01

Memory lane. And remember, the harder you froth, the better it feels.
2 Facehammer 2011-02-01
Hahaha. Yeah, your argument was retarded then, and it's retarded now.
0 [deleted] 2011-02-01
Taken literally, that means there's a .1% chance that it wasn't part of their spaceship. Of course, there are only two things it could have been, and those are either debris or aliens, and so this .1% chance that it was anything other than debris means it was definitely an alien craft.
Are you ever 100% sure of anything? Even if you remember, say, tying your shoes, even if you look down and see them tied, there's always a chance that you're wrong, because you could be dreaming. But that means you can never be more than 99.9% sure of anything! Which means, obviously, that there are aliens everywhere! Put on your tinfoil hat and wait in the backyard for the craft to arrive and take you to their homeworld!
-2 crackduck 2011-02-01
Yikes. Insane and a shameless liar. Sad.
2 [deleted] 2011-02-01
Ad hominem attacks and replies without content. I guess that's what I get for engaging in conversation with a user named "crackduck."
-2 crackduck 2011-02-01
What is the point of replying in earnest to someone who is a documented shameless liar, disinformation agent, and apparently believes in all kinds of bizarre aliens and tinfoil hats?
3 [deleted] 2011-02-01
Oh wow. Did you actually read the post beginning, "Taken literally..." as being in earnest? I was making fun of the r/conspiracy crowd--and you in particular. No, I think the alien-fearing, tinfoil-hat-wearing crowd is very silly.
To be totally blunt: I was mocking you. I guess that's what I get for assuming you have the intelligence to know satire when you hear it.
-2 crackduck 2011-02-01
So lets tick these off:
Unapologetic liar
Disinformation Agent
"Troll"
Condescending
Likes to knock down straw-men
Just because I called you out for being a liar doesn't mean I'm crazy or believe in aliens or the magic powers of tin foil.
Just stop lying.
3 [deleted] 2011-02-01
I'm just going to stop engaging you in conversation, because you're not actually justifying your claims about me lying and being a "disinformation agent." You're just saying them, and just saying something doesn't make it true.
0 crackduck 2011-02-01
You can't really be that oblivious to your own recent past:
http://www.reddit.com/r/space/comments/fco9a/nearly_20000_photos_from_all_of_the_apollo/c1eyqz3
But of course it makes sense that you are likely lying to yourself.
3 [deleted] 2011-02-01
I never lied or spread "disinformation." I never said something false, hoping other people would think it was true. I just thought it would be amusing to watch the people on this subreddit chase their tails, sifting through thousands of photos in some vague hope that their conspiracy fictions would finally be confirmed.
Instead, I got to see you make an ass of yourself, which was almost as good. But like I said, I'm kind of getting bored of your progressively nonsensical responses, so I'm going to quit responding now that I've put my original comment into context. Feel free to continue rambling if you like talking to yourself, though.

0 Volopok 2011-02-01
Ideally there are but not everything makes it to a torrent. There are some pretty good videos of ufos+nasa involvement still on youtube but they are buried within lengthier videos. (I'm going on memory) I did see a good video a while ago that was of one of the capsulls on it's return trip shooting out the window toward the moon during take off. In between the moon and the capsule a large metallic ball/disk flies quickly from right to left. Also I read an artical about nasa destroying nearly all original footage.
-2 crackduck 2011-02-01
Aldrin was part of the cover up, and eventually outed himself as a conspirator and told the public about the incident. He thinks it was a detached part of the ship.
2 [deleted] 2011-02-01
Your two claims--that Aldrin was part of a cover up and that he believed the space junk was part of their own ship--contradict each other.
How has no one linked to information to back up this bullshit about a cover-up and Aldrin supposedly telling the public about the lie? Oh, right... because you're making it up.

Dave McGowan has written the best, and funniest analysis of the moon myth, "Wagging the Moon Doggie." There's a great close-up at the link of the lunar lander. Looks like it was made out of air conditioning ducts and card board, and taped with some metallic tape where it ripped. I definitely would feel safe and secure in that baby!
This guy is sharp -- he posted something online on 9/11/01 about 9/11 being a false flag event. He was on it way before me and almost everyone else.

Also, use proper English. Clearly you can use an apostrophe, and I applaud you for that, but spelling your words out doesn't take that much longer.
-2 jingi 2011-02-01
no, the votes don't speak for themselves, people in almost all subreddits generally upvote without even looking at the link. That is nothing uncommon. By the comments, though, no one bought your shit.
And really? Attacking basic grammar mistakes? Alright then, you have truly proven your superiority and intelligence, good job, lol.
1 [deleted] 2011-02-01
"Bought my shit"? It's not like I was actually trying to accomplish a goal by suggesting a cross-post. I just thought it'd be funny to see a few trolls get trolled. I did, so I would personally call that a success.
Also, spelling "you" as "u" is not a "basic grammar mistake." It's a sign of intellectual laziness, and a violation of basic reddiquette.
