I wonder what happened to Reddit member IamJulianAssange ?
89 2011-06-11 by [deleted]
I liked reading his posts, but for some reason his page is gone. I used to link directly to his posts, now I need a replacement, any suggestions?
EDIT:
mod donbueno states that he was not banned, so maybe IAJA simply moved on. I can understand that, sometimes only the complainers are vocal, while fans (like me) dont say thank you to good members often enough... anyway.... I hope he comes back, his efforts were appreciated and he will be missed, as shown by the number of people commenting.

here's the thing.
if he was banned/shadowbanned, what's to stop him from realizing his account is no longer visible, signing up with a new one, and alerting us to the fact that his account got removed? Nothing is. Anyone can do this, easily. Especially with this thread about it being plainly observable at the top of the board.
if he was actually targeted offline, as it seems some here are speculating, then why would his Reddit account also disappear? Why just his account? Why not his posts? Yadda yadda. Lots of questions. So even if we assume this is what happened, it still doesn't add up.
meanwhile, look at the OP. Reddit member for 17 days? Four posts, total? Then magically notices the most frequent poster to this forum is gone before anyone else does? And skyrockets to the top of the forum? Hmm. Quite peculiar.
is it possible to delete one's own Reddit account? I suppose it is by engaging in ban-worthy behavior even if there is no other way, so it doesn't even matter, really.
isn't it obvious? Unless it's just a site error, IamJulianAssange false flagged himself in order to get us riled up.
this is my preliminary guess, anyway, until we get more data.

who cares, I'm just playing with ideas, not purposely accusing anybody really. I have no idea what happened.
2 [deleted] 2011-06-11
I think you're on to something here. I got the vibe that he might have been a little frustrated with the lack of effort by everyone here to do something proactive, get organized, start a revolution, or whatever it may be...
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
Your speculation on what may have happened is silly.
I have been told by moderator illuminated wax that there was an auto filter which targeted me because of the number of posts to r/world that were deleted. I assume they were deleted for editorializing in the post titles. I do not want to abandon this user ID because it infuriates the bury brigades.
I am trying to get people to focus on what is happening in, around and to them so that they can make informed choices about how to respond. TS has already HTF. We need to focus on a rebuilding phase.

His cached user page.
Judging from his submitting patterns...I'm guessing he was banned for spamming.
6 Darrelc 2011-06-11
I called him out on it loads.
SpammingX-Posting topics to /r/politics,conspiracy,worldnews so it wouldn't surprise me if he was.1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
You NEVER "called me out". I reply to all messages and I am sure you are the guy who was educated by me about the difference between spamming PRIVATE communications and providing prolific, relevant content in PUBLIC forums.

If this doesn't get solved in the near future, I think we should try to bring this to the larger reddit community.
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
I am sure it is an issue of the bury brigades pressuring the moderators.

Let's hope he comes back after a short vacation.
(Maybe as "IamBradlymanning")

Thanks

I'm Ron Burgundy?
7 donbueno 2011-06-11
I liked him too. As far as I know we (mods) did not do anything to hinder him from posting.

No problem, honestly this little niche of conspiracy imho is much better than the usual spots for alternative history/theories...
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
I like people who like me.
Check your auto filters.
6 dsannes 2011-06-11
That guy was awesome
6 ranniskurast 2011-06-11
He basically WAS r/conspiracy. Where'd he go? Think he got 'taken care of'?
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
When I started posting there were 28,000 readers and the NEW page was almost always empty. It did not take long to get to 34,500 readers by posting relevant and controversial links. When I was 80% of the HOT page I backed off on my posting to keep it below 50%.
5 cojoco 2011-06-11
I was a bit rude to him when he started double-posting everything, and he seemed to get quite pissed off.
I hope it wasn't just pissed-offedness.
3 SteelDragon87 2011-06-11
The whole purpose for having specific places to put things is to keep things loosely resembling organized... It's just rude to not make an effort. If the kind folks from 'The Agency' haven't picked him up, he'll be back under a new name.
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
I am glad you admit it. I will accept that as an apology.
5 whatisnanda 2011-06-11
He was killed by the CIA.
7 adrixshadow 2011-06-11
Wasn't he a CIA agent?
6 phidel_kashflow 2011-06-11
We're all CIA agents here. Relax.
3 brerrabbitt 2011-06-11
Only about half of us. Some of us work for other three letter agencies.
4 fixedzero 2011-06-11
People complained that he was posting too much, and now people are inquiring about why he's gone?
6 with_the_quickness 2011-06-11
since we all totally have the same opinions.
3 SovereignMan 2011-06-11
Good question. He submitted posts about 8 hours ago but it seems his user page "does not exist".
3 bumblingmumbling 2011-06-11
Well he did recently post this.
5 tttt0tttt 2011-06-11
Quote from your link:
"Many in the Russian-speaking community were stunned when 17 of their members — six Claims Conference employees in a New York processing office and 11 accomplices — were arrested last November on charges relating to a fraud that siphoned an estimated $42.5 million from Holocaust funds. At the time, five of the accused pleaded guilty."
Why should it be controvsial to point out that people were defrauding Holocaust funds?
3 davidpbrown 2011-06-11
Second post front page of /conspiracy looks to be his IamJulianAssange - Bilderberg 2011: Full Official Attendee List. Perhaps it's just his profile is unavailable but you're right it shouldn't be.
You can use Google inurl sort by date within last week for this too, though it's a rough solution.
3 [deleted] 2011-06-11
IAJA brought (brings??) lots of good info to the board. He is quite excellent.
5 DukeMikeofG 2011-06-11
Well, I'll agree that he brought lots of things to /r/conspiracy.
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
Excellent.
3 [deleted] 2011-06-11
i bet he got paranoid and deleted his trail
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
The only people who are out to get me are the self-appointed keepers of the truth. They do not want any version of reality but there own to exist in the world.
People with the time and expertise can find my IP address (I don't even know what that is) and locate me in the physical world but that is a counterproductive exercise because I am nobody and they can only make me rich and famous if they try to make me into a somebody.
So, no, I did not delete my trail.

He still exists, he is on EFNET logged in as ctrlfreak on #above_top_secret

morgansloat was also delete.. all of morgan's posts were deleted. if you search for IamJulianAssange, you can see his posts are still there.
2 jimmyjewtron 2011-06-11
damn, he was a good guy. hope he didn't get nabbed up by some spookies.......
2 Dirkpitt 2011-06-11
Could this be him?
2 jwgmac 2011-06-11
Radioactivemilk is probably the second most prolific poster in this subreddit. OR Dirkpitt, you and I are one of three people on this entire board. Or, maybe it's just you and I.
2 CallMemaJiC 2011-06-11
Hope he's not gone for good. One of my favorite posters and he kept this forum very active. Without him it wouldn't be as active.
2 LouieKablooie 2011-06-11
He was good. I considered PM'ing him to find out where he got his news.
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
I have three websites in my bookmarks bar. They post links to news and opinion. One of them is radical right another is radical left. I go to the stories they link to and the hyperlinks within the articles.
2 77_65_65_64 2011-06-11
He was just here yesterday...that was fast.
2 [deleted] 2011-06-11
He is allegedly back under a slightly altered version of his original name.

well things like this are happening now, makes me wonder
8 GTChessplayer 2011-06-11
you guys overvalue your importance.
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
Nope. I am a point and click, copy and paste person.
It would ruin "their" credibility to include me.
1 bumblingmumbling 2011-06-11
I am Julian Assange!
2 tttt0tttt 2011-06-11
I'm Sparticus. Doh! I mean that other guy, who isn't going to get crucified.
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
Excellent!
1 RationalMind888 2011-06-11
He has been taken to Gitmo for "questioning".
1 boostmane 2011-06-11
He's always posting, lol
1 Superconducter 2011-06-11
Might it have something to do with the 'reddit mold' icon that was on his page for the last couple of weeks?
0 jeremyeatworld 2011-06-11
It's about time someone banned that loser spammer. He does nothing but link to his shitty blog that has no true stories in it. People like him are the reason many people do not take this subreddit seriously.
3 [deleted] 2011-06-11
Actually, he's one of the few that make it readable. I've honestly preferred ATS lately, and that wasn't easy to admit, mind you.
The reasons people don't take this subreddit seriously anymore go way deeper than that.
Automatic cries of "Disinfo agent!!!" or "Wake UP SHEEPLE" whenever honest debate is presented. If you think we're not listening, or just not getting what you're trying to say, maybe you need to examine your clarity and conciseness.
A lack of good links, except for IaMJulianAggange's, for the most part. Say what you want, he appears to put effort into it. He links to many more places than his blog, btw. Many here simply link to whatever bullshit Alex Jones is sprouting today and be done with it.
A lack of good discussion and critical analysis. Half of the links here are quieter than r/jailbait. Furtive lurkers and trolls, lately.
2 jeremyeatworld 2011-06-11
I disagree, man, and let me also say that I think what makes this a great subreddit is that besides the links, it invites some great theoretical self.posts. When there is a link in here, more often than not it is to AlexanderHigginsBlog (IAmJulianAssange's blog, I'm sure), RevolutionaryPolitics, and most recently LewisWhitefieldHixon. All of the links to these sites are spam, and the usual suspects all link to them (IAmJulianAssange, TheBluestLight, RadioactiveMilk, Kr3at, etc). These are all spammers trying to drive traffic to their website, and you fall victim to it.
0 [deleted] 2011-06-11
Sure, but entertaining speculation isn't what people are always looking for. Good, solid, alternative news links is what I prefer in the end.
I've ended up deleting all the attempts I've made in the past. Well-sourced and rational alternative news links downvoted into oblivion?
Why, was it the lack of penis-enlargement ads, garish flashing HTML, and Alex Jones/Rense/Prison planet logos everywhere?
I've got a friend named Dave. We all know a Dave. After a few beers, the conspiracy theories, smug talk about being Awakened, and refusal to engage in debate all start coming out. "You're not listening to what I'm saying" repeated in the face of every logic flaw pointed out. I'm not close-minded, I just want to see evidence and sources.
This subreddit reminds me of Dave after almost every conversation.
1 IamJulianAssange 2011-06-11
One of the reasons people DO take this subreddit seriously is the valuable information I link to. I do NOT have a blog or a website or any other web presence (facebook, linkedin, etc.) besides this one.
