Also I just read that Newport News Shipbuilding, the only company that builds carriers for the US, is in charge of dismantling the Enterprise. Imagine how much cheaper it would be to destroy it and build another carrier instead of dismantling one and building a new one.

Although I have to agree, I don't think they will play this card yet. I say this because I don't think civil uprising is growing fast enough at the moment to be a real threat.

It maximizes their profits to get to dismantle the ship; scuttling/destroying the Enterprise would COST the "MIC" taxpayer money that they've already contracted to get for dismantling it. It would only save the taxpayer money to destroy the USS Enterprise instead of dismantling it.
